sadicus
Looking how to set up a way to have Stream Deck run a Cal Script. Right now it just want to open Cakewalk, yet it's already open. Edited April 15, 2023 by sadicus
tulamide
I don't have a Stream Deck. But naturally I would ask, if it is able to record and run a macro? That's the only way I see to get it that deep into Cakewalk.
msmcleod
CAL scripts can be bound to keys (or MIDI notes) in Key Bindings - so the easiest thing is to bind the key first, then get stream deck to invoke it.

I did not know that. Can you elaborate more on how to do this "trigger".
sadicus
Was able to make Key Binding in Cakewalk "Run Cal" but not yet figured out a way to run a specific script.
Lord Tim
If you go into your Keyboard Shortcuts, do a search for "cal" (without the quotes) and you'll see Process | Run Cal right up the top, which is what you found, but if you keep scrolling down the list, you'll see the individual scripts under -- CAL Program Files -- which can be bound to a key directly.

My first understanding is that it would be possible to EXECUTE A SCRIPT CAL from MIDI events, as a form of TRIGGER. Something more AUTOMATIC than the user PRESSING KEYS for execution. Example: Sometimes MIDI notes may be duplicated. I have a CAL script that CLEANS DUPLICATE NOTES. So I figured this script could run automatically whenever I duplicated a note.
