@msmcleod Just as it is possible to show/not show, front/back of the track the vertical lines, I suggest that the same be implemented for horizontal lines, as seen in the image (white lines).

A good idea!

Another option could be that when you hover the mouser cursor on the dB scale, a horizontal line could be displayed on the waveform at the location of the cursor tip. A bit like like Aim Assist. You could then position the horizontal line at whatever dB level you want and the display would be less cluttered as there would only be one line (or two, if a line is displayed for the corresponding negative dB value as well).
