During his original run with Journey, I thought Steve Smith was good.

After leaving Journey, his level of playing went up dramatically.  He became one of the best players on the planet.

His playing is smooth/fluid... looks and sounds effortless.

Would this count as another of your bandmates?

I'm a little surprised nobody has mentioned this guy (the one behind the Bert head), but there's a few others too.  I won't repeat some that have been mentioned that I like, but I'd like to add Terry Bozzio and John Bonham to the list!

Also a shout out for Rick Allen just for the pure guts to learn how to keep playing after losing an arm!

Sad but true!

Her slip slipped S.L.I.P.... but luckily at the 55 second mark it magically recovered when they spliced the performance together.

Another Magma fan! Woot!

What would the world be without Seventh Records in France? I own dozens of Magma/C.V. albums, lots of boots and some videos, too!

Seventh Records

Butt-ugly website. Great tunage!

Yes,  Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh aso, wow..

I m a fanboy and very proud to have recorded Magma

1983 during a concert in the Fabrik,Hamburg.

The Band perforned ca 4 hours  in front of a total enthusiastically  crowd.

Magma is touring this year and there is a new CD on the way.

Hope to get a ticket.

1) Is that recording available anywhere? I envy your opportunity to record them!

2) I've never been lucky enough to see them live. The closest I got was plane tickets to Mexico City to see their show there, when work got in the way, and I had to cancel.

I didn't learn of Magma until 1980, after Attahk was released. It was very difficult here in the States to find their LPs. When Seventh Records remastered and released their back catalog, I bought it all at once (over €500). Seventh were nice, and added a bunch of accessories for free!

Alles gute!
