Ok so I have an effect that I want to put on the master channel but i cant find out how to do it. I want to add a reverb for the "other room effect" for just part of the song but it sounds noticeably worse on each individual track vs. the master channel.

Put it in the master bus FX bin, like you would any other track, either on the inspector or in the tracks view (with buses visible):

However... although this will do what you asked, putting the reverb on the master bus is not really what most people would do.

You're better off having a separate reverb bus, and having each track send to that bus.

@Creative Sauce has a great video explaining this:

All project templates bundled with have a master bus setup.

Put the plug-in in the Master bus FX rack and automate Dry/Wet or in the case of the VST3 plug-in, host bypass.

If the project does not have a master bus defined:

  • create a new bus,
  • right-click the new bus and enable "Set as Default Bus"
  • select all audio and instrument tracks, set their output to the new bus,

Any new audio/instrument tracks will automatically point their output to the new bus.
