RexRed
Load balancing causes play freeze. When I play my 96khz 24 bit projects with load balancing on Cakewalk will stutter drop out and stop. It never used to do this before. If I take load balancing off it plays fine. Any ideas on this? It doesn't happen on 48khz 24 bit projects. Even when I change my RME Fireface UCXII interface latency it still freezes. RexRed
Thanks Noel, you were right. Well, this is what happened. I took my M.2 Windows 11 OS chip out of one motherboard with an AMD CPU and placed it into another motherboard with an Intel CPU. It booted up perfectly without any noticeable hitch. Until I loaded Cakewalk. Then I noticed the freeze-ups. When I went to insert my (numerous VST) synths I realized they no longer were valid due to ilok associations. I had to request the old PC be disabled and then reauthorize them all. Now Cakewalk plays fine! YAY! Edited October 27, 2022 by RexRed
Noel Borthwick
Lol thats a first. Plugins freezing up the system because they aren’t authorized. Talk about aggressive copy protection

Talk about aggressive copy protection You know that is what I was thinking about was copyright protection. I do recall Izotope Nectar blanking out parts of the audio in Cakewalk when a plugin was present and not authorized. So they have ways of shutting off the audio passing through them when not enabled or authorized. Sometimes it can be as simple as not having their app that authroizes them in the terminate and stay resident startup apps dock by the Windows clock. There is a lot of piracy so I don't mind them trying to guard their product from theft as long as it does not become a pain trying to use their product legally.
