Johnbee58
Hi; I put this question in the Q&A section yesterday. Shocked that nobody has an answer!? Hoping somebody can help me here. The Question: I don't use the Comp feature. I prefer to over write. I take notice lately that when I'm recording a vocal track, if I open the "Lanes" button I find that it has created several lanes from when I punch in/out. Should it be doing this? I always took for granted that overwriting was erasing and keeping the track on the same lane. Is it something that needs to be changed in Preferences? Thanks; ?John B Edited August 4, 2022 by Johnbee58
Tim Elmore
To stay within one take lane in Overwrite mode, try the following settings:
David Baay
Should not happen if you have 'Re-use Existing Lane' option or Re-use... Unless Takes Overlap' option selected in Record Options since Overwrite is theoretically eliminating the overlap in the punch region befrore recording starts. But there may be scenarios (certain combinations of tempo and punch points) where CbB thinks there's still an overlap and only the first option would work correctly.
