How to select multiple PRV notes using select tool

I tried selecting more than one note in PRV by ctrl+click using the Select Tool. To my surprise it doesn't work. It works for clips so I thought this would work for midi notes as well,  but it didn't. I know this can be done using the smart tool but when the grid is zoomed out its hard to focus and select multiple notes using the smart tool which is why I tried using the select tool for this.

Where lassoing multiple notes at once is not practical. try holding down CTRL and instead of clicking the note, click outside the note and drag into it. Lassoing one note at a time

Thanks, that does help. Wondering why the select tool cant be utilized for this though.

You can't use normal windows selection techniques in PRV.

Select Tool requires holding the LEFT mouse button while dragging over the desired notes.

Smart Tool requires holding the RIGHT mouse button while dragging over the desired notes.

No need for ctrl, shift , or alt keys.
