Where is "Wipe"?

Question

Posted

I can't find this anywhere, the help is useless , it just says "select the track and choose wipe" WHERE?

I have spent over an hour looking for this. In the old version it was in a drop down menu.

Yeah! I was thinking now, do we have a new version out that removed this.

Absolutely a new one for me. Why on earth would you want this? I’m curious ?

My discovery is if you click on a track number it highlights all the data in the track even if it’s busted up in little pieces. Now delete or copy or ?

http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Arranging.17.html

To wipe tracks

1. Select the tracks you want to wipe.

2. Click the Track view Tracks menu and choose Wipe Track(s).

Cakewalk deletes all clips and events from the selected tracks, but leaves the track properties intact.

I simply select the clip and hit Delete!

Thanks I did find the menu eventually but never expected a menu to be down in the middle of the program

It can be confusing at first, but each of Cakewalk's Views has its own menu pertaining specifically to that View. This is because the different Views (except for Track View) may be floated outside the main window and because the main menu would be hopelessly cluttered if everything were in it.

The main menu tends to have commands that apply to the project or program as a whole.
