pulsewalk Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 (edited) There is already a Solo button in the VSTi window header. Please also add the Mute button, which would do a lot for those who need to momentarily mute a VSTi, without having to go to track view and search for the right track, among maybe many many tracks, to find the right track to mute. Thank you! Example (I added a mute button in Photoshop, just to see what it could look like): Edited October 23, 2022 by pulsewalk 3 5
pulsewalk Posted October 23, 2022 Author Posted October 23, 2022 Still missing this really useful feature! Any news? 1
Keni Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Fir me, all buttons should be in every view! buttons on tracks but not on console, etc... 1
Max Arwood Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Don't stop there, add archive too. Oh yes, please add archive the bus area too! 1 1
Starship Krupa Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 I like this. There's certainly plenty of room in the UI. 3
Jim Fogle Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 +1. I like the idea of a mute button on the VSTi window header. 1
Starship Krupa Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 Given that we're talking VSTi's here, a Freeze button might also be appropriate. 1

My first thought would be for the VSTi to retain whatever preset, setting or preference is in use when the freeze button is enabled. Was that your thought too or something different? 2

Since those buttons duplicate the track control ones, I'd expect it to do the same thing as the one in the Track Header. Bounces the track with all FX. 2
Max Arwood Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 I would like to see the freeze and archive buttons on buses in the console view. It would be nice to be able to freeze sections/groups of instruments. Archive would be great too. Both of these could help projects that are loaded with synths and plugins. 1

I think the idea is good enough it should be presented in it's own thread and not relegated to the bottom of a thread about a similar idea. 1
Keni Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 All should be all. People can always use custom if there’s too much... My slant on this. I dislike the constant window hopping to find commands. I prefer to have everything available all the time. 1
pulsewalk Posted January 8, 2023 Author Posted January 8, 2023 I miss this feature every time I use Cakewalk. It would be so easy to work in a VSTi having it on while the track is running, and then with a simple click on the M button being able to mute that instrument, to hear how the track sounds without it. I really hope this feature is planned! 1
Max Arwood Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 (edited) Also add grouping to FX I would hope that we would be able to add the mute button in a group. If it could be added to a group, it would be a great way to decide between 2 compressors/EQs/reverbs/etc. on a track or a bus. Edited February 25, 2023 by Max Arwood Clarified the post
