sjoens Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 (edited) All of a sudden when I bounce 2 mono clips together they become stereo. This was not happening before. Please, how do I stop this nonsense??? We need a dialog window for Bounce To Clips like Bounce To Tracks has. Edited November 9, 2021 by sjoens
bitflipper Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 Not seeing that here. I get one mono clip as expected. I tried it with both mono and stereo interleaves, and either way I get a mono clip. How about a screenshot?
Xoo Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 (edited) Do you have any FX on the clip? I *think* that that can trigger the interlave change. UPDATE: Not that I can repro anyway. Clip pan envelope doesn't do this either. So I get the same results as @bitflipper Edited November 8, 2021 by Kevin Perry
sjoens Posted November 8, 2021 Author Posted November 8, 2021 Weird, huh. It happened all of a sudden... in the middle of a long editing run last night. Today it's behaving as expected. All I can take away is don't spend more than 8 hours editing... at least on my system.
sjoens Posted November 9, 2021 Author Posted November 9, 2021 (edited) Spoke too soon. 4 clips bounced to 1 (purple track). So far only this one track is doing this. No FX and Interleave button tried both ways. The green track above it bounced as expected - with FX and stereo interleave button. Odd thing is, undoing & repeating the bounce will sometimes produce a mono track. Edited November 9, 2021 by sjoens
RBH Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Just below the Bounce to Clips selection is the Convert to Stereo selection. Any chance this is caused by a slippery mouse click ?
sjoens Posted November 9, 2021 Author Posted November 9, 2021 (edited) No. I've been re bouncing them several times trying different scenarios. I noticed when right clicking the selected clips, the option to Convert to Mono is there when it normally wouldn't be. So when I decided to convert the "mono" clips to mono and then bounced them together, they bounced mono. For some reason CbB thinks there's "stereo" data in these clips? Right-click on each of the clips and see if the "convert to stereo" option is enabled. If it is I'd take that as an indication that CW knows it's a mono file.
sjoens Posted November 9, 2021 Author Posted November 9, 2021 (edited) If you look at my screen cap above it shows both Stereo and Mono options. ??? This only when they are all selected to be bounced. Individually they each only show the Stereo option. This is why I tried converting the clip group to Mono first. Don't know why you'd need to convert mono clips to mono to prevent them from bouncing to stereo, but that's what seems to be happening here. Again, Only This Track behaved this way. SteveC Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 (edited) I'd check track lanes to be sure there isn't something in there that's not visible at the parent track level. Edited November 9, 2021 by SteveC
sjoens Posted November 9, 2021 Author Posted November 9, 2021 Good thing to check. In this case only one takelane with no admaralities. BTW, This track was recorded mono.
