sadicus
Does CBB Have a built in Tuner?
Thatsastrat
Not directly as a vst, but the TH3 for Cakewalk Bandlab has one. 2
Craig Anderton
There are several free VST tuners, like this one.
chris.r
Brainworx has a tuner that goes sometimes on sale for as low as $5.
Cookie Jarvis
I would have thought a built-in tuner would be a no-brainer in a DAW...but I'm old school ? With that said I use the bx_tuner that chris.r mentioned! Bill
John
What happened to it? There used to be one.
scook
The dedicated tuner plug-in was included in SONAR 8 -8.5 and dropped in X1.

scook
There are plenty of free tuners out there, I have used MTuner included in the MFreeFXBundle and the aforementioned GTune.
InstrEd
I might even have one of those in my collection. Just remembered I have Imitone too. found here
sadicus
Thanks everyone! CBB should add it to the list. MTuner and the Tuner in TH3 are what I'm using.
InstrEd
Have to agree that it should be included for a DAW
Spooky ? Luke
Older question but if this helps anyone. I had the same question myself after moving to Cakewalk from GarageBand but I found that in the TH3 Guitar guitar effect (built in), there is a tuner right there on the top of the TH3 interface to the right of the master and live toggle buttons. Another method, not quite as effective but you can always add a piano track and hit the E key (or D whatever root key you need) and tune them by ear. Edited January 30, 2021 by Luke Lincoln Another hacky method to achieve the same thing
John Vere
Who needs to tune? We got Melodyne I still have the original because I guess I always install bits and pieces of 8.5 I never use it 'cuase its kinda lame and slow. Most times my Boss Tuner or my Zoom multi effects are in line. And then otherwise I just use my cell phone.
lapasoa
I suppose you need a tuner for electric and acoustic intruments, I have a small box named KORG GA - 2, just a great jewel. You can tune guitar, bass and also acoustic instruments.
RobertWS
I have one of these! Old school.

Peterson makes a nice modern version of the strobe tuner. Most guitarists use the clip-on-the-headstock ones nowadays.
RBH
I'll third - ly recomend G-tune. Small interface, light weight on resources. Fast and accurate. Free.
petemus
The current MTuner from Melda can show the tuning of all strings at once; you can just strum 'em all and you see each string's tuning on the display:
