Pre Bandlab Projects Crashing

This has happened twice lately.  Today I tried to open a project from about five years ago and it continuously crashes- even when holding Shift/Enter to bypass all plugins.  I was able to open the project with Sonar Producer X3, save it, and it still crashes with the newest version of CbB. 

Anyone else have this issue?

Just an idea - open it in X3 and do a "save as" with a new name

Try and open that in CbB

You might also benefit from selecting all clips and do a bounce to clip before saving

I have 30 year old projects - sometimes they do not do well. Does it load but then crashes on play ? That is what usually happens to me.

Try one of these:

1) My favorite trick is to copy all the tracks one by one to a new file. If it loads but does not play.

2) Save without any plug ins in earlier version

3) Save as a MIDI file in earlier version.

I'd saved this one particular song as a bundle.  That opened fine but I'm still concerned about some older projects.  Thanks for the tips above.

Submitting crash dumps is the best way to find out what is happening

Bundles yes I forgot about that option. That is my standard method of backup.
