Harks Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Recorded over a period of God knows how long! A mate of a mate remixed and mastered it as my original lacked a bit of oomph. https://www.bandlab.com/user6702162893654111/shifting-sand-2ed627b1 1
KSband Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 I was enjoying the sound of the acoustics and then the electric came in - pow! Much too loud in my opinion, it's drowning out the vocal too.
jack c. Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 good all around sound.jack c.voice volume on the money.
Bajan Blue Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 You have a good track here, but as Kurt said the Guitar is way too loud - it makes listening difficult I think this could be excellent if mixed differently Cheers Nigel
Wookiee Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 Furry paws are tapping so it must be half reasonable
Harks Posted August 25, 2021 Author Posted August 25, 2021 Thanks for all your comments. I take the point about the electric guitar being too loud. Maybe I'll upload my original version at some point. Cheers.
PhonoBrainer Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Nice tune! I had headphones on, so the widening trick around :15 caught me a bit unpleasantly - I'd say start the song with the acoustic guit nice and wide, it sounds super clear that way. YMMV! You could approach the mix from a few different angles, but you might look at the kick drum, I think it's doing a bit much and is sucking a lot of low-end energy by being that loud. My guess is, your mixing friend added ooomph by compressing the drums more than a bit. I really enjoyed the melody, and the drum performance, and the driving guitars. Once you get the low end sorted out, this will rawk! cheers, -Tom
DeeringAmps Posted August 28, 2021 Posted August 28, 2021 Made think of the Gin Blossoms, don't know why... On 7/28/2021 at 5:22 AM, Bajan Blue said: could be excellent if mixed differently Lots of good suggestions above, deserves a little more work. t
