You get RBass as a Bitwig owner and you get Bitwig 8 as a Waves user.

Sounds like a Catch-22...

Seriously though, where do I show that I'm a Waves' user to get Bitwig 8-Track (maybe that's what I'm missing)?

I still have this one

I figured that if I kept it long enough it might become worth something, but failing that it still looks like a thing that someone clever would have and gives me the perceived aura of someone who knows what he's doing. Either that or the aura of someone who keeps too much old crap for too long. I prefer the first one.

And that is the Yamaha one that I had...it's like reliving the past!

@cclarryOn foot of our chat here about 4 and 8 track units I decided to add a post on this over at the BL Facebook group

Did not think I would get much of a reaction, I was WRONG :D ... lots more nostalgia over there in the replies now :D

Problem though might be getting the 4 track recordings off them? Would they need the portastudio to do that, not just a normal tape deck?

What I did, at the cost of some sound quality;

1) Connect a standard cassette deck to e.g. Cakewalk

2) Play the 4-track tape forward, record it to tracks 1 and 2

3) When it ends, turn it over and play it (backwards), record it to tracks 3 and 4

4) Reverse tracks 3 and 4 (I think I used Audacity)

That gave me all four tracks, though I may have had to do a bit of time-stretching to make them line up start to finish. But they did finally, and the process helped me appreciate again the wonders of DAWs.

I think my Bitwig 8 copies equal my Live Lite copies now ?

It's the opposite for me. Bitwig 8 tracks has been handed out for free so many times, with magazines (Computer Music, Beat), various promotions, etc.
Kind of how Live Lite used to be given away by everyone and their dog in the 2000s.
