Many of the performance issues with Windows 10 are associated with it sending and getting things from the internet all the time. Windows Defender cloud stuff, ads, telemetry, etc. An immediate solution is simply disconnecting your PC when you are working with music.

Seeing it in this thread brought up some monthly mental and biological Man A Pause Issues for me   ...it's all good now ...
