Bapu Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 He removed the fretboard from the neck of this cheap Ibanez and put on a new un fretted fretboard, and he measured out and put frets in as 19 semitone per octave. 2

Notes_Norton Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 It looks good. I'm afraid it would give me too many opportunities to play wrong notes. Right now if I hit a bad one, I can always bend it a half step and make it right ;) 1
paulo Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 So it's like a regular guitar, but with more stripes on the long bit? 3

Some here may recall my reporting here that my son made his first fretless guitar about a year or so before the Zappa Brothers album Shampoohorn where Dweezil played a fretless guitar on one tune.

Gswitz Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 Dweezil is such an amazing rock star! I never miss a chance to get out to see him. One of my favs.

Colin Nicholls Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 19-tone equal temperament is definitely a thing. It's a way of experimenting with minor third intervals that are closer to perfect Pythagorean harmonic intervals than you get with 12-TET. Other intervals are further "out" than 12-TET but it's all good stuff. 1 1
