sjoens Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 (edited) Came across this YT channel the other day. Cool stuff! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynFNt4tgBJ0 Edited August 16, 2020 by sjoens
sjoens Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 Even more cool is how he made the entire album in his basement ('cepting the last cut) and it sounded way better than if made in a commercial studio (as the last cut was). 'Course he used pro grade stuff and even created his own processors (Rockman).
Glenn Stanton Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 there was a detailed article a while back on how he exchanged tapes with Brad to get all the vocals done, then brought in a pro drummer to finish the recordings. very amazing.
craigb Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Ha! Before even clicking on the link I thought "Hmm... Sounds like Boston!" Yep! ? Some friends of mine had the only Boston cover band in the U.S. (maybe anywhere?) called Smokin' (I got to be roadie for one of their shows up here by me). August (who I've mentioned before) was given this by a Boston groupie: Nice gift, eh??! ? I had a few of the units too. Instant Boston sound! ?
bayoubill Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 To this day that first album blows me away one of my all time favorites along with Are You Experienced. Led Zeppelin and Dark Side of the Moon 1
