bjornpdx Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 This is an 8 min condensed version of Dracula, the 1931 horror movie with Bela Lugosi. The film doesn't have music or sound effects so I put some in with Omnisphere and u-He Zebra. The movie is public domain, downloaded from the Prelinger archives. 2 1
Douglas Kirby Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 Hi Bjorn - I thought your music and sound effects enhanced the viewing experience - nice job. It's been years since I've seen that movie - it's quite entertaining. 1
Wookiee Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 @bjornpdx Would it be wrong to say fangs for sharing. ? Good job sir. 2 1
mark skinner Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 Bjorn , I actually saw the movie recently on Svengoolie. Good but kinda dry without mood music. That was a great idea and creative on your part , and you now can say you did the music for a Dracula movie .. I'll bet there are a bunch of downloadable silent films to use.. Great job .. mark 2
daryl1968 Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 very cool Bjorn - I'm sure it was a fun experience too 1
DeeringAmps Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 Bloody Brilliant! All thumbs, and big toes (probably a sight no one wants to see), up on this one! t 1
Jacques Boileau Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 Great job! I love these movies. I watched the whole 30 movies from the Universal Classic Monster collection last year. My daughter thought the first Frankenstein movie's lack of a soundtrack made it even more terrifying, strangely enough! 1
bjornpdx Posted July 20, 2020 Author Posted July 20, 2020 Doug Thanks for the comment Wookie? Mark It's surprising how many old movies and cartoons can be downloaded - and messed with. Daryl Yeah, that was a lot fun. Thinking now of fooling around with the dialogue. tom Thanks tom. Keep yer shoes on! Jacques I actually thought the movie was more sinister without any kind of soundtrack too. But it's like a big canvas to an artist - gotta fill it in with something. ☺️ 2
PhonoBrainer Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Great concept!!! I liked what you added, very clean, modern, and creepy! What happened when Dracula made a mistake in his DAW? He undead it. . . . I'll get me garlic. 2
freddy j Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 Ha - absoflippinlutely wonderful! Music certainly adds to the mood of a film. You have done an excellent job on this. I'll be "lurking" for more fun stuff like this. 1
Lynn Wilson Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 Great job! I like this very much and want to show it to my friends, just so they can see the level of talent here. Wow 1
steve@baselines.com Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 That was really cool - thanks for sharing. 1
markno999 Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Bjorn, Saw a little of this last week but didn't have time to get very far (at work:)) Had a chance to watch, and listen, to the whole thing. Really cool what you did with this old film. Your additions are very supportive and if Omnisphere existed in 1931 they probably would have done something similar. Really enjoyed it, and recalling what a scary character Bela was.
