Keith Wilby Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Written in the 1980s by me and a good friend, recorded and mastered this year using CbB. All instruments by me. Hope you enjoy it.https://www.bandlab.com/wilbyforce/emotionalrain-f9560740?revId=3cd420a2-2777-ea11-a94c-0003ffd19c0f 2
DeeringAmps Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Well done Keith! I think this one is in "the can". Bring us another... Like that ending, I was sure that last note was going high. You fooled me! t You played the Paul on this one? Black Standard; right? 1
Lynn Wilson Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 I really like this song and style. It takes me back. Your performances are spot on, as well. I did have a little trouble understanding the lyrics because the reverb is quite present (as 80's era songs often are). That's just a matter of taste, and all in all, this song is quite tasty. 1
bjornpdx Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Mix is great. I felt like I was in the center of the room. I thought the vocal could be bumped up just a tad. I always look forward to hearing another of your songs. 1

My late friend Rob wrote the bulk of the lyrics (mine are "you want to live your life ..." onwards), I think he was just painting a picture with words.
Wookiee Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Nicely done sir @Keith Wilby. Mix come across well here on the Adams. 1
PhonoBrainer Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 This song has a lot of great performance in it and emotion as well, so you are good there! If I get a mix vote, I'd move those cymbal crashes from their extreme panning on the edges to something more towards center. They way they kept splashing hard left / hard right for me detracted from the song, and I was not wearing headphones. good song hombre! cheers, -Tom 1

Bajan Blue Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Keith Like the song - defintely a good old 80's vibe - if i was to comment on the mix, i would say a bit less reverb on the vocals, or perhaps a different type of reverb but that's my personal taste!! Great job Nigel 1
Douglas Kirby Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 I enjoyed the listen - that's a really good song. I liked your vocal and the fx you used on it. I liked the lyrics as well. The mix sounded quite nice to my ears. 1

freddy j Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 You must have made some of the changes suggested because the mix sounds doggone good to me. The vocals sounded clear to me and the lyrics were great. I particularly liked the Fx on the guitars panned hard L &R. Excellent work!! 1
