PhonoBrainer Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 I think it's just supposed to be a static picture. ? The music is a bit of a macabre circus. And is inventive. I'd say keep throwing those pics up there , the one you chose I'm not sure if it really fits the tune you wrote. The music is elegant and the pic is, well, not super elegant. I dunno.
Douglas Kirby Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 An interesting composition - a bit macabre as emeraldsoul mentioned - I thought the brass sounded excellent.
David Sprouse Posted March 19, 2020 Author Posted March 19, 2020 (edited) Doublas what are you doing up this late? :D:DThanks for listening. I'll have to rethink this. Edited March 19, 2020 by David Sprouse

Wookiee Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 Haunting, abstract and inventive. Apart for some distortion in the first few bars which I suspect were more Internet than production it sounds OK here David.
freddy j Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Very creative and inventive indeed. I particularly like that dissonant sound (brass?) that comes in at the 0:30 mark. It has been a doggone long time since I have listened to any classical music but if I remember correctly, this reminds me a bit of some of Stravinsky's work. Well done!
Johnbee58 Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 Interesting arrangement. This would work well as background music for a documentary on the subject matter of the picture. ?John B

I thought the poor kid in the pic with his hands up was like edvard munch's *the scream*. It's a really powerful picture; wish I knew more about it.

Makke Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Interesting combination. The music fits well to pics ambiance. Something scary and exciting is happening in the picture.

The picture is disturbing once you study it, and the music, with its dissonance, conveys that mood very well. The piece is mixed very well, also. Kudos!
bjornpdx Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 David Sounds really good to my ear. You have a feel for how the instruments should work together. Bit of a disconnect between the image and the music so I'm not sure what the story is. I like the music though I thought it needed something more in the background, more strings maybe? But I don't know anything about orchestral arrangements so I'm just a casual listener offering an opinion, whatever that's worth.
