A good way to expand on this is to buy MIDI packs from Groove Monkee. They work seamlessly with AD2. You are all right, though. They haven't brought anything to the table since the mallets. I've put all my drum budget into AD2 for the last few years, because I like the sound. But lately I admit I've become more interested in Groove Agent 5.

I agree about their instruments, but Vienna Ensemble Pro is a unique product.

Like a lot of people, I got this as part of this APD Impact Soundworks Orchestral Bundle of five libraries for $99. This is an excellent deal and a great library, but It's not impossible that the Orchestral Bundle will come back, as many of the previous APD ones did last year on Black Friday.

It's at this exact price pretty often--that's what I paid--but I wasn't aware that you could get it anytime. It's funny, I happened to be playing with this a few hours on Sunday.

This is one of my favorite libraries by far. Very helpful in working on orchestration if you are just getting into it. It's a lot easier to play something like this across your keyboard than to keep referring to a chart to remember what the standard range is for specific instruments. You just play on your keyboard and you hear how a string or brass or woodwind ensemble sounds. And the solo instruments and ensembles sound good enough to be in my template, and compare surprisingly well with some of my other libraries. Good sounds with lots of articulations. There are also some amazing multis that are very inspirational. Plus percussion and a choir. Well worth checking out

FYI, Frostpoint isn't an instrument, but a collection of impulse responses. I highly recommend Terracotta. Well worth $15. Dual Music Box ($5) sounds like it is just two music boxes, but it actually is a really beautiful sound design tool, with a lot of unusual pulsing, pad, reversed, effects, etc. I am very partial to FrozenPlain. I have everything but Phoenix and Frostpoint now. And I think I will pick up Phoenix at this price. Aside from the special sales that come out now and then, FrozenPlain usually only discounts to 30% off during their sales.

Yes, this is something most people experience with the Randomizers. I moved all my Audiofier libraries over to my SSD and batch resaved and they all load much more quickly. Another thing is that you have to follow the instructions in the manual to get the snapshots to load.

I would buy the M32 in a second if it had the light guides. I have a second mini-keyboard for key switching, but having one with lights would be the ultimate. But I might get it anyway. ?

The people at UJAM must be going, "Damn, we just got our Virtual Bassist series on the market and you tell us this?" Ouch. Toontrack is going to do great with this. Knowing all the expansions that will be done for this makes it a very appealing product. Not to mention the synergy with EZKeys and EZDrummer.

I got an older version of Nectar Elements for free in some promo I don't even remember. I really like it. Great interface, lots of presets. So I feel like iZotope has already given me the Elements Suite. But I guess the newest Nectar Elements will be the next one to turn up for $1 on Plugin Boutique.

The price is right for the A25 but it lacks the colored lights on the keys, which is to me one of the best features of the previous ones.

I love it. It's one of the three libraries in their Randomizer series. Aerkord combines bowed , ethnic winds, and vocals. Abstrung is strings. Vesper is "bells and twinkly things." I bought Aerkord and Vesper after I got a deal on Abstrung in a sale like this one, and really liked it. This is a steal at the price. It's a very powerful instrument that sounds beautiful, and can also come up with some really unusual sounds through its engine. The Audiofier "Randomizer" series is not about presets so much as hitting the randomizer button a lot and getting some unexpected results, which you can save. You shouldn't think of it as a Rompler with a lot of deep instruments. It's all about the way you mutate and warp the sounds with effects, reversed sounds, arps and sequencers, etc. But if you want to keep it simple and just combine two sounds -- a Vocal Ah and a Duduk, say, it can do that too. That's what I mostly do. If you want to get the most out of it you need to watch the Audiofier videos on YouTube. All the Randomizers essentially work the same. The one caution I would make is that it is 22 GB and for some reason it takes a while to load on a regular hard drive. I have it on an SSD and it's not instant, but it's decent. Once it's loaded you're good to go. Audiofier is an amazing company. I'm very curious about their new Riffendium.

They said they will continue to support Kontakt. But I wonder if that will just be for the old libraries. I wonder if their new Layers library will be released for Kontakt. I bet it will be like LABS instruments for Spitfire.

Features include Auto Volume Scaling to enable legato transition and release samples to blend better, High Res Resampler, Mic Position Merging, Core Implemented Legato, and Advanced Articulation Management. Libraries will continue to be available in Kontakt format as well. The new sample player will debut with the release of a free instrument called "Layers: Studio Ensembles," using small ensembles structured in layers of different kinds, such as mixed timbres and chords. Customers will also have a wider choice in pricing structure with the availability of bundle pricing and à la carte pricing for individual mic positions, instruments, and articulations. I doubt it. It didn't happen for the Mac version of Gadget. I don't think Korg ever even offered a package deal for both. They are really different things . Most (all? ) of the Gadgets are not identical to the ones in the Legacy Collection. You can program and make 8 part multis on the M1, but on its gadget, Darwin, you can only make single patches with small adjustments like res, cutoff, amplitude, etc. ArpOdyssey has an extra page of features than its Gadget, Lexington. I want this, but I realize that a lot of what makes Gadget the app and most of the Gadgets work is because of the touch interface and the fact that you can use so many of them at once. Simplicity is good there. But as extra VSTs for your DAW, it's not important. None of the Gadgets are as good as your standard VST, including the Legacy synths. On the other hand they have NKS. I believe its possible that NI will one day come out with some kind of touch interface for their keyboards. Maybe an XY pad? The first edition went in that direction with th controller wheels.
