    Full plugin scan : why ?

    I don't understand the question/scenario (unless V5 is different than V4). I only have the option to "turn on/off scan at startup".

    I know of no option to do a 'new only' scan in Studio One 5. I'd love to have one though.

     

    If I turn off scan and I add a new plugin and then re-start Studio One I don't get a scan and the new plugin is not found.

     

    I do a full scan at startup, and in the course of a day I close and re-open Studio One with some 'reasonable' period of time, a full rescan runs much faster (~15 seconds)  than if I close Studio One and don't reopen it until the next day. Then a full scan takes a fair amount of time (~1 minute).

    I think the glasses guys all had a coded joke about Paul that Paul thinks is about something completely different, hence why they are all laughing.

    <taps wood> I've yet to have any problems with iLok (since 2007 IIRC) that were not user error and were user corrected.

    I spend the $30/year for their protection plan and I have a spare iLok on hand for just that purpose.

    Was that $30/year wasted? Here I quote the movie Heist in an exchange between Gene Hackman and Sam Rockwell:

    GH-You ever cheat on a woman? Something, stand her up, step out on her?

    I actually don't do that, but since COVID I've probably wore 'real' shoes maybe twice or three time.

    During the day it's Ugg type slippers and if I do go out into the world it's sandals.

    I find shoes really constrictive now.
