Since you only want to get the guitar into the computer (and no multiple mic's for voice or acoustic instauments) I'd say look at IK Multimedia's AXE i/O One. $80 with this code 50AXEIOONE right now. Then a pretty good Amp SIm is Scuffham S-Gear ($129) , but there are cheaper offerings for typically $5 - $7 on sale from Audio Assault.

I have both. I use the HD600 for casual (non daw) listening and the 650s from SoundID with a specific profile for DAW mixing. I find the 650s to be more focused and the 600s to be warmer sounding. -

They are legit and their credit card (oayboo) is very reasonable at either 6/mo interest free of just save the sales tax. I've purchased from them over time. -
