I entertain myself with thinking I'm a producer/mixer even though I'm also a player of the baz.

If you're (at least) sketching a ballad, yes.

Digital Performer (done)
Reaper (done, free)
Mixbus/Mixbus 32C (done)
ProTools (done)

Audio-Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Studio XLR Microphone $59
Bang for the buck and all that. Cheapest I've seen in a while.
I picked up the AT2020V last year. Have not even used it yet.

Why is this PA thing always on a special sale like Waves?
Going back a few years, the deals were much better than they are now. There was a time when you could pick up many high-quality plugins for anywhere between $9 - $14.

Holy crap, this is good. It's got an arpeggiator that's instant Earl Scruggs in a jar. I'll post a sample as soon as I figure out all the keyswitches...
I was kind of hoping......
Nevermind, you got a shiny new toy.

I've only done this with ProTools and Studio One and in both cases they worked flawlessly. I have not null tested the mixdowns, but that less of an important test to me than does every plugin work.
