audio plugin deals APD Offer: 83% OFF Production Voices SFZ Piano Bundle
Mesh replied to Audio Plugin Deals's topic in Deals
Ah ok, I was looking at the APD site. Even if they marked it at $999, the sale price is what counts. Most vendors have a very 'questionable' list price (marketing I suppose) and I personally don't take those prices seriously...what I have to actually pay, well that's a different ball game.- 9 replies

No need to be so harsh JB, could be just an oversight on the pricing. I've bought quite a few products from APD and have not had anything remotely 'suspicious' or dishonest. They've actually been quite good with their customer service. Of note, I see the full price showing $475 and not $399.- 9 replies

Quaint, yet precise?

As much as I love Satch's tones, I'd really like to hear/test it out before jumping in. One thing I really like about Satch's tone is the harmonic feedback he gets (of course with a real amp), but would be great to have that in Amplitube.

Speaking of which.....I haven't bought any rigs for TH-U yet and supposedly, Choptones makes some good quality rigs. Just wondered what you guys think of OwnHammer's cabs vs. Chotones? I really like the OwnHammer cabs that came with Mercuriall and thinking of getting a pack from them.

$29 https://overloud.com/products/choptones-bogna-xtc Bogna XTC is the TH-U expansion library, created by Choptones, seeking to recreate the sound of a Bogner Ecstasy 101B*. Born in the late 80’s but placed on the market just in 1992, the Bogner Ecstasy* was the answer to all guitar players who needed a large palette of guitar tones without using multi-amp settings or multi-channels preamps. Reinhold Bogner figured out that the combo preamp+power amp couldn’t give the right dynamics and responses of a single circuit unit, so brought us this Swiss-Knife amazing amp. Another aim? The “simple” mission to give users the amazing tone of vintage amps (mission accomplished). The Bogna XTC library contains 142 rigs, which have been captured using the following gear*:

I have to say I didn't expect this to be as good as it is. The song files are broken down to each instrument and the drums into each kit piece. The Elastik player is where a lot of the 'magic' happens. There's a lot of flexibility in able to change keys (without losing any degradation in quality) and the fun part is mixing/matching various genres/styles/instruments etc... and come up with something very useful/interesting. There an "Inspire" button that replaces samples from the same instrument group and which looks for similar instrument samples to replace (I suppose the larger your library is, the more variety of samples to be had). The ELastik player does all of this and whole lot more (still learning how to use it). Yes they're all loops and not your own creation, but you can get some very nice backing tracks (extremely quickly) to put your own instrumentation in. As JB said, they do have a lot of acoustic instruments which sound really good and it's quite fun to experiment with different styles. Overall, I'm happy I got this and it's worth it to have in my tool box and as I like to write my own stuff, will try to incorporate this in my tracks as well. At these prices, get it I say!! ?

Carlos, check out the Audio Technica ATH-M50x. They're pretty good and I'm very happy with mine. Although Amazon has it for $149 right now, you can get it for under $125 (I paid around that for mine). https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUR86

Speaking of Arturia, I just the V7 Collection over at KVR for a very nice price and now will use my old Alesis 7.1 to control this buffet of synths. (back to your local programme)

On a completely different note, I bought Arturia's Analog Lab 4 from a certain Peter Friemann over at KVR and have to say I'm very happy with it. ???
