Is the -20/ -38 db attenuator of much use? Rocky
-
Ditto that. I'm not a fan of systemwide at all. I only use the plugin. Rocky

I've been doing some research in this department. My requirements are attenuation, dummy load, silent recording and headphone out. My Super Reverb wants to see a 2 ohm load and my Champ is 4ish. My other amps have impedance switches. That throws a monkey wrench into the works. I would have pulled the trigger on one of these but they never returned my email http://www.aracom-amps.com/products/prx150-dag It would have solved some impedance problems but I would have needed to use an interface or use a headphone amp for silent late night playing. It would have been stellar for gigs. The Captor X has a great feature set but the attenuation is limited to -20 db and -38 db. The impedance is fixed but otherwise seems great at that price point. This wouldn't be ideal for gigs. The Suhr Reactive Load IR looks interesting but I don't think it works as an attenuator. I need to research this more. The UA OX looks awesome and has selectable impedance it's at a different price point. The Two Notes Torpedo Live and Boss Waza would be worth a look at this price point. The Fryette Power Load IR ( no attenuator) and Power Station ( no headphone out ) shouldn't be overlooked. All of these units get good to great reviews and there are lots of videos and sound samples out there. It seems like there is a lot of give and take feature and price wise. So far I’ve ordered a Weber Z-Matcher https://tedweber.com/z-matcher/ and I’m leaning towards the Captor X. The Two Notes Wall of Sound plug and app look interesting. The only thing I would be sacrificing is attenuation for gig use. Let us know what you decide. Rocky

My '67 Super Reverb and a 70's champ that runs a close second. I have a 70's Ampeg V-4 that needs an output transformer that I want to put back in service. It was awesome back the day. I still have the first amp I bought. It's a 60s Ampeg Reverberocket 2. It has sentimental value but I can't say I ever loved it. That said I gonna pick up a Mark Five 35 combo soon. My wife thinks I have too many amps, I think she has too many shoes. ? Rocky

I went to my user account and clicked upgrades. It gives different upgrade scenarios. All of these would be new to me. I put an upgrade in the cart and applied CREATE40 for a 40% discount and that was the outcome. It would give me a year of wup on most of my existing plugs and add those. Still not gonna do it though. ? Bluzdog

bluzdog replied to Reid Rosefelt's topic in Deals
Bruno back off! We like Peter, he's helpful and he's been here and at the old forum a long time. He clearly got pushed too far in that thread. Rocky -

$200 Discount for Total Studio 2 owners when buying Total Studio 3
bluzdog replied to Reid Rosefelt's topic in Deals
That is marketing genius right there! I'm in the same boat, I have most of the stuff but I don't have any version of Total Studio Max. I don't need Total Studio Max but I would probably buy it if the price was equitable. Rocky -
I like this one as well! Rocky
-
Truth be told we don't really need any of this stuff, we want it. G.A.S. makes us do it. Urgency is one of the best marketing tools ever but nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything. If you were looking to pick this one up it was a great deal. Rocky

Too much loss people, my condolences. Stay strong, never forget and in the future the emptiness will be filled with fond memories. Rocky

$70 if you have 30 jam points. I still can't get myself to do it. Rocky

I picked up the bx_console SSL 4000 G. It just seemed too hard to pass up. I wasn't going to let software gas get in the way of saving up for my new guitar amp but here we are. ? Rocky

I like the SLO-100 model, I bought it individually in 2012. BTW...... If you have Jam Points Satch can be had for $40. Rocky

The mission was a success! I probably still need to get him a better monitor but he's in business for now. Thanks again for all of the input! Rocky

The bundles are a really good deal. Rocky

Thank you for all of the food for thought. You guys rock! I ordered his box and he should have it next weekend. ? Rocky
-
I have a monitor but it's not 4k . I may revisit that down the road, for now he should be set. Rocky
-
Yes and it takes forever. I recently replaced the power supply in his Xbox. It actually went pretty smooth. Rocky

I pushed my price point some and I'm considering this: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-gaming-desktop-intel-core-i7-9700k-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-super-2tb-hdd-512gb-ssd-black/6401068.p?skuId=6401068 It checks most of the boxes and should be future proof for some time. What do you guys think? Rocky

f.w.i.w.... I'm not looking for a high end gaming machine but he definitely needs something usable. He has an Xbox1 and lots of games. Right now he's talking about running minecraft on the PC. When I get back home I'll pick his brain a little more. Thanks for all of the useful info. You guys Rock! Rocky
