Dang, I miss my KORE soundpacks. NI makes some of the best HW and SW, but sometimes they just end up not supporting them any more. Too lazy to update their software/drivers, they want you to spend money on their latest gear =/ Money rules, customers drool ?

Yeah, Kore 1 and Kore 2 were essentially the same thing. Slight differences but amazing products! It boggles my mind why NI got rid of them. I remember there was an uproar amongst Kore owners when NI stopped supporting it. Owners had important Kore sound packs that they paid for… but they couldn't use them any more. Not one of NI’s best moves. Lesson learned from this: It’s only a matter of time until your NI hardware isn’t supported any more which makes it unusable. It would seem that NI are in the business of making door-stoppers and paperweights.

This is a stark reminder NOT to invest in NI hardware if you’re in it for the long haul. Unlike other companies, NI are too lazy too maintain drivers for their HW(not to mention, they’re too lazy to maintain/update certain VSTs as well). Anyone remember NI Kore 2??? Loved that usb device and software to control all my plugins. Just another great NI product that became a door-stopper/paperweight =/ Want to invest in a company that maintains/updates drivers for all their HW? Korg is one of my faves. I have a KONTROL49 from ages ago that works amazing. To this day, the drivers are constantly updated and the device works perfect. That’s quality.

Drew also mentions: It’s the silver algo with the legacy GUI. We've removed the Mix control and fixed the Emphasis control in a sweet spot.

Yep, I received a third "thank you" coupon as well. I invested in plugins that I would be using the most: AKG Spring Reverb BX20, Sonnox Inflator and Korg SDD-3000. I definitely think UA are testing the waters with this pricing/promo strategy. First time they ever did this. For the price we're paying and for the quality of their plugins... this is just a win-win for UA and their customers. (Dunno about Waves, though) Can't wait for the next promo (to drain my wallet, hah ?)!

Yep, these are really great times. These guys make arguably the best plugins in the biz. And rightfully so. Their software development is just top notch. I really can't believe the prices are SO low! Makes me regret my recent Waves purchases. Although you're not interested in any of their plugins, I would really recommend demo-ing plugins before you buy. Some plugins are "native & apollo" and some are "apollo only". //Apollo = UA DSP Make sure to check that it's native if you're gonna buy

Exactly my sentiments. For me, I really don’t need any more compressors, limiters, eq’s, channel strips… I want some unique and creative effects.
