I've noted that also. Why ask for a location in "preferences" if you are going to repeatedly ask for it upon update or install? Doesn't quiet make sense, other than to "know" what you have installed I guess

If you bought Modo Bass with Jampoints you can transfer it. To check, click on the "License" button under the product in your account. If it has the RED "Transfer" button then you can transfer it to your son-in-law. The only time that you can't transfer something is if you bought it with "Gear Credits", or if you received it free in a group buy, or it specified NFR when you purchased it.

SampleTank 4 MAX only includes Miroslav CE, not the full version, so those are the only sounds that would be there. You would have to buy TS2 MAX, or Miroslav FULL to get the rest. Is that what you're asking?
