Hey Douglas, I woke up this morning humming your tune. Good hook on this.
-
Has a *yes* vibe. So much great work went into this. Nice one.
-
Awesome guitar stuff in betwixt the singing.

This brought a tear to my eye and I don't got kids! :D:D Not sure what they meant by DEMO. Could have sworn I'd heard this in a show before. :D:D

You've captured st. paul's experience incredibly well. peter robs paul, not the other way around. :D:D

True to your style on this one I always love hearing your new songs. The switch between talking about anger and then loving a girl was a little abrupt (sort of a non sequitur) Dont really think it's an important detail, though.

Liked the flashes of portamento, a really under utilised articulation. Great creativity, and you keep things interesting throughout.

Liked this alot as is. 1-4-5 progressions are great but might want to break it up with something (substitutions?). Loved the lyrics,

Loved this, some of the best lyrics I've ever heard! Truly heartfelt.

You have such an intimate style, it really comes across in the recording. Liked your lyrics alot.

Liked this.

I've heard this I think? Still love it. More cats than dogs where you are I guess.

Spak, thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy day to listen to my music. I had ambitions to finish this with someone. That never materialized so it sits in limbo. I'm at the mercy of lyricists and book writers so gotta find someone like that. I have probably half the songs though.

*We the Living* is a book by none other than Ayn Rand. I started writing a musical with that book in mind and this is the first song, we the living. Years ago, I sequenced this in sonar 7. :D:D 1st version: https://davidsprouse.bandcamp.com/track/we-the-living 2nd version: https://davidsprouse.bandcamp.com/track/we-the-living-2

Loved the smorgasbord of sounds. -
Beginning to end really compelling song. Love your voice. I got some ideas for myself out of this one.
-
Always love when you write a song about love. Your voice sounds a little different than on your other pieces.
-
The music is spot on (IMHO).
-
Love the dry sound. Everyone uses way too much reverb (myself included). Who were you singing about? You have a gift for lyrics.
-
Hi Kenny, Thanks for your ears and your appraisal. Are you playing live anywhere around town?
-
Douglas, thanks for listening. I wonder if brouwer would mind if I used his piece as cantus firmus and made it longer. It's a really catchy theme. Portland is beautiful but having returned after living everywhere else, it's a little crowded now. Everyone's moving here. :D:D

Mr. Sherman must be rich.

This was live? wow! proud dad fersure. Amazing voice. The mix sounds really good on my woofdales. Who wrote the song?
-
Hi Tom, thanks for the listen and comments. I adjusted the panning on the Tuba per your advice.

Thanks for listening and commenting spak. The classical guitar can be an expressive instrument in the right hands, but it takes listening very closely. I like alot of the symphonic instruments because they project so well.
