Just curious...were they authorized to your hard drive instead of the physical iLok dongle?
I think authorized to the motherboard i.d., but I'm not sure. I don't have an iLok dongle, just a virtual iLok account.

Aren't all the Exponential stuff authorized through the iZotope app these days?
BTW - This thread might not be helpful for learning Cakewalk.
Yes, but they are authorized through iLok, not the iZotope portal. For some reason the licenses for my Exponential plugins didn't appear on my iLok account, so I couldn't switch them to my new computer.

So how about trying what they suggest and contacting the plugin publisher?
Izotope didn't respond to my query several months ago but they did this time and they transferred my license to my iLok account. Thank you everyone.

Why can't you just click Quit in the plugin message? It appears to be asking for user input there.
If you skip the project should continue loading but the plugin will be not active which shouldn't affect anything. You can then delete the plugin from the project.I've done that in the past, but now it says that it can't open the project without the plugin. When I press Quit, I get the attached error screen. It brings me back to the previous screen that tells me activation is required. Ugh. I tried contacting Izotope which used to bundle this plugin from Exponential Audio.

I have a Cakewalk project that used Pheonix Verb by Exponential Audio. On my new computer, I upgraded to a new computer. When I open the project, I get the error message - see png file. When I put in the activation code for the product, it says that it's only allowed on one computer (my old broken one). When I go to hide the plugin inside Cakewalk's Plugin Manager, this doesn't help. How can I fix this so I can at least open the project?

You need to use the Focusrite ASIO driver and that should not happen.
Yes, I do have only the Focusrite drivers chosen.

Then make sure in Power Options that your USB devices do NOT sleep after a certain time.

Well with my previous computer, I could use the internal audio device for YouTube videos and stuff and my Focusrite interface just for music projects. And I don't want to disable the audio on my webcam.
I'll check Power Options.
Thanks everyone ?! Happy Holidays!

I got a new computer. When I come back to a project after my computer's fallen asleep, Cakewalk asks me if I want to continue using the sound from my Nvidia video card or from my desktop's external webcam. I'm using the dedicated drivers for my Focusrite audio interface. Is there any way I can stop this annoyance?

If Cakewalk is crashing it should be producing a dump file. Find it (the crash dialog will link it) and send it to us and we can investigate what caused it.
Luckily, this project isn't crashing anymore.
Lately, when CWBBL does crash, usually during transport, it just hangs and then crashes. Unfortunately, there isn't any recovered file or dialogue box when I reopen the program.
I'm glad I reached out. I'll try VST2 for future projects.
Thanks!

I believe most if not all VSTs that have both versions include both versions when you download them.
Check your Cakewalk Plug-in Manager. Or Preferences>VST Settings>uncheck 'Hide Related VST 2 Plug-ins'.Ok. Now the VST2 versions of EZDrummer and EZBass appear. Are there any advantages and disadvantages to opting for the VST2 version?
-
Thanks. I did have a second VST3 plugin loaded, and CWBBL was crashing every second. I'm still getting unexpected crashes about every hour, so I have to constantly save my work. I wish this program was more stable and at least auto recover when it crashes.
I assume there must be issues with my system because I doubt everyone has this problem.

I guess he's saying use the VST 2.
Does EZDrummer and other plugins offer the option of choosing a VST2 or VST3 form? If so, what are the logistics of using a VST2 version? Thanks!

VST3? Bingo.
Any workaround or way to optimize my machine?

I'm getting frequent crashes during playback of a mix, and there's no ability to recover my work - it happens when I play and pause my work, and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do.
Right now, I've done some pretty big CWBBL projects on this computer. Now I'm just doing a 6 track MIDI with EZ Drummer, and it's crashing all the time.
Thanks!

Forget about using BA for installing CbB and its components, use the Cakewalk Installer at the bottom of this page.
OK, thank you!!! As it turns out, I already have these add-ons. How do I access Drum Replacer?

I just finished an awesome project. Thank you BandLab people!!
I want to experiment with Drum Replacer. @scook helped me discover that I already have all of the Add Ons like Drum Replacer. How do I use it/access it?
-
Or it could be that I have comping selected in the record option. But I want to thank you people so much. At least I have a handle on what's going on!! I'm recording a great original!!!

I’m seeing a bunch of duplicate notes ?
This is what the event view looks like. They don't seem to be exact duplicates.
Ah! I think it's because I have MIDI Omni, and I have two MIDI input channels selected, and perhaps one input is echoing into the other, I don't know how. When I choose just one MIDI input and play my keyboard controller, the notes show normal.
-
OK, when I select in PRV to hide muted clips, everything looks normal the way it should. But I don't have any muted clips to my knowledge. What's going on I wonder?
-
Thanks gentlemen. So I have my view split between Track and PRV. I'm selecting the track I want to edit in PRV by double clicking on the track, and it comes up gray and clear in PRV. There is no other track assigned to this MIDI channel. Also, in event view, some of the events in this track are showing in gray font. I can still edit these events, but I'm wondering what's going on.
I will review the documentation you recommended, David.

got help from the beta forum.

Ok, so I added a stereo bus. Then I made it the default bus. Still, the existing tracks don't feed into this new bus, nothing appears on the meter, and nothing happens when I change the volume of the new bus. What do I need to do to get my music to go into the new bus?
Edit, oh I didn't read this part:
"To bulk change all existing audio tracks to route to the new master bus, select them, hold down the CTRL key and select the new master bus from one of the track outputs; repeat for the buses"
