This year, I was hoping to pick up a good 25 key midi controller with semi weighted keys for a good price, but I haven't seen any worthwhile discounts. Some have even been fake discounts. For example: Amazon offers AKAI Professional MPK Mini Play MK3 at 8% discount for 119 Euro. Thomann offers the same model undiscounted for less and free delivery. I might as well just wait. Black Friday Shmyday - mah

Have a go at finishing a song with lyrics suggested by Chatgpt. I guarantee you will not be impressed. I've played around with it out of curiosity, but I've always been underwhelmed. No Ai can replace the unpredictability of the human mind or the left field thinking of a great songwriter. Sure Ai can make a predictable song based off existing patterns, but it's not going to surprise you.

Ok - problem resolved. When you make your order from the BFDdrums site, make sure you use your InMusic email address, because the serial numbers aren't sent via email anymore, but deposited directly into your InMusic account associated with that email. I did not know this and used my email associated with my PayPal account to make the order. Just out of curiosity @Bapu when you got your order on PB did you receive a serial via email?

finishing a song about life on the road: "Jezebel"
Philip G Hunt replied to bats brew's topic in Songs
@bats brew If you delve into Daniel Johnston, it's probably best to watch the documentary on his life, The Devil and Daniel Johnston. He's a real outsider in every way....but a genius. -
Hi Andy, I agree, it's probably the USB ports, but again, just today I'm seeing posts like this on Facebook in the cakewalk group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/cakewalkusers/permalink/10159409687560877/

I'm going to be honest here as I feel it's more useful. There are some things that work really well in this mix and others that could do with some attention. The intro drums don't gel with the intro chords. I would either drop the intro chords (start at 0:19) or redo the drums so they follow the guitar more. Having a live drummer responding to your playing would be useful here. Around 0:58 there's a transitional riff which reminds me off Elliot Smith 2:45am - check out the drums on that track, it might give you some inspiration. They are minimal and effective. The change at 1:00 goes into a really nice part of the song, but it feels like the first chord is off (or the bass). Can you fix this in the mix? I really like your lead singing in this - very solid. Some of the backing 'oohs' sound a little off. I would take the 'oohs' at 1:20 and paste them over the 'ohhs' at 1:23 (or autotune) as there's an off note that stands out. I hope you don't mind this review. I really liked the track overall, especially how it shifts around.

Great playing. Very smooth. What about a vocal? I could well imagine a smooth female vocalist on this track.

I have the same message. Says the link is not secure. Do you have anywhere else to post the track?

Collaborated with an old school friend and this is the result

Nice mellow track - the vibe is 70s, though I hear a little bit of Beatles around the 1:30 mark. When do the lyrics come in? -

Great fun track. You can hear the enjoyment in the music. Love the guitars. Only crit would be that you bring in the lyric 'Jezebel' too early. I kind of feel that should be in the pay-off line, not the second line. Apart from that. Great. I know you may not take this as a compliment, but your vocal tone reminds me a little of Daniel Johnston (who is one of my favourite artists). -
Gorgeous production. Absolutely top-notch. I especially like the U2 style guitar. Do you send your tracks out to radio? I think this would def be something that would get played on radio. Wow! directly after your track on YouTube I got The Handsome Family, Singing Bones, and your track stood its own against it. That's some fine music.

Thanks @AndyB01 I was thinking of getting the Focusrite, but I've read quite a few reviews that complain of random disconnecting of the unit or changing sample rates. If it was only one person writing this I wouldn't have thought twice, but I've seen quite a few of these comments. I'm guessing you've never had a problem with that, right? These comments are for the Gen 3.

Has anyone ever used Audient interfaces? They seem to get rave reviews from users and are geared towards guitarists. Audient EVO 4 Scheda audio USB, Audio Interface per la produzione di musica (2 in / 2 out) USB audio-interfaccia, Alimentazione phantom 48 Volt, 2 preamplificatori microfonici https://amzn.eu/d/0Wc58Rx Or Universal Audio Volt? This seems to be getting great reviews as an alternative to Focusrite. Universal Audio VOLT 2 - USB audio interface https://amzn.eu/d/dJdFx0W

That's a really good offer because a while ago PB gave 20% off with a token. -
@Glenn Stanton How are the Steinberg Asio drivers? One of my beefs with the Behringer is that it didn't come with dedicated Asio drivers and I had to hunt down a driver via a YouTuber..

Uninspiring preamps and not so great headphone volume. It's not awful, but I'm wondering if there's something with a bit more warmth.

Hi guys, I know this is a big ask but I was wondering if there are any singer songwriters on the board using mainly acoustic guitar (mic or DI) who would recommend a budget Audio interface. I currently use a Behringer U-phoria but have been thinking up upgrading for a while. Any recommendations under 200? I see that Native Instruments Komplete is currently on offer but I'm not sure whether it's right for an acoustic sound. I work on a Dell laptop if that helps Thanks for any help.

Hi guys, It's been nearly a year since I've posted anything here. Life has been a real bitch this year, from a disabled dog to losing members of the family, it's been a real inspiration killer, so I found myself retreating into my memories (escaping the shitshow of the real world out there). This song is the result. It's an intimate piece. Like a voice in your head. I'm still unsure about releasing it or not. I'd be interested to hear what people think.

I said 'great' song By the way, if Orb Composer write songs the way they write blurb....God help us! "Orb Orchestra is the most technological tool to assist professional composers experiment with new musical ideas and compose in a most efficient way. "

Don't confuse 'polished' with 'quality'. You can polish a turd all you like. It will still be a turd. There aren't plugins that will write you a great song.....yet!
