For lack of something better to do, I guess, I demo-ed this. With the core pack. Clean/crunch, don't care much about the rest. Compared to the better plugins out there, the UI is terrible. Audio Assault level stuff. If people are actually paying what they charge for this, they should take 10% of that and pay a proper UX engineer to do the work. Forget about balance, emphasis, hierarchy, golden ratios. Basic stuff, scale, size, proportions, alignment. To my ears, it sounds ok. Not bad, not great, somewhere in that great between. I'm not sure I would replace anything I have/use with this. Plini, S-Gear? God, no. Kuassa, Amplitube Fender(s), PA, Nembrini? Nope. Bias FX? Maybe. Probably. I'm sure there's more to it than what I sampled. STL seem to be quite knowledgeable about profiling/IRs, one can tweak the amps/effects/cabs a whole lot more than I did, I didn't try any of the artist packs, and there's definitely people who like them, despite the pretty steep price. I just didn't get any spark out of it, whatsoever.

The best sale might have been the one that just ended (so before a new release). Something like $83 for Rx7 Standard, from Elements, at JRR. I haven't checked the new specs, but judging from the pricing for Rx8 Advanced, it probably cures Covid, so it might be a while until the next big sale. By the way, if you can't wait until then (and don't want to sell a kidney to get it now), there are cheaper and decent alternatives. I have Acon's Digital Restoration Suite 2 and I love it - works like a charm. Shop around!

I think other boards/forums might have more deals posted precisely because of what happened to you. Like, I was on pluginfox.co today, and they have a Tokyo Dawn Labs sale on (I wonder if they are affiliated with them somehow, they've been hosting exclusive sales for them). That might be premature. The sense of relief after a complicated delivery does not in itself guarantee the quality of the end product. Although in this particular case, the visuals are definitely promising.

You can't blame them though, they are trying to please everyone, from producers on tight deadlines with money to spend, to cheap pretenders like, never mind. But if you're patient, you can get most of the ones you'd want over the course of a few months, for less than $30. Oh, and I think most people would go to the source and take the Nembrini amps (v2), over PA's fuchers.

Class A is better than Class B, unless you're driving a Mercedes. Seriously though, I think it's a matter of taste. For example, I prefer the Townhouse compressor to all their other mastering compressors, just because I love its 'color'. Demo them if you can, it's the only way to know.

I think it's the Nebrini Holy Grail. I also prefer the MRH.

I hear we'll be able to fit most of Komplete 13 on one of these.
