Same here. I've saved mibby's code, since he's into Melda, and is usually friendly and informative if you need help deciding what to get ?: MELDA2490257 No doubt there are plenty of others around with a referral code.
-
Aw, ok. Thanks, I thought I was missing something obvious. ?
-
Where do you see that? I only see the eternal madness discount, and a few other plugins at 50%.
-
I was fiddling with A360 when it came out. And I really like Vermillion. And Cerberus is a very decent bass amp sim. I might finally get them with this sale. For guitarists, if it's decent, we're interested. And while these are cracking value for someone buying their first plugins, the rest of us would probably rarely choose Kuassa in a blind test over other options we already have. S-Gear, Neural, STL, Amplitube's Fender collections, not even to mention the FX (cough, Soundtoys) ... so do I need this? Of course I do, because I'm a hoarder.

Nice freebie!

If you demo-ed it before, you had an Ilok trial license. Check the tab that shows all your licenses on ilok (including inactive ones), Nolly should be there 'refreshed'. Right click, get it to 'show', so it's in your list of active plugins, then in the tab containing your current/active licenses, right click again and 'activate' it.
-
I'm holding out for the update that will make it easier to sell.
-
If you've only tested it once, they 'refreshed' your Ilok trial serial - just need to find it, get it to 'show', then activate it again.

I've been trying out Cali. It's all relative but I don't think you'll miss the cleans in either Nolly or Cali if you have Plini. Between the first two, Nolly is definitely the more versatile (both in terms of amps and FX, although the overdrive pedal in Cali is really nice). Both have decent cleans, so those who are mainly interested in high-gain tones might be covered with a single Neural DSP purchase. I would have been very happy to use Nolly for everything, had I not demo-ed Plini. Again, very generous trial policy, and with the site-wide sale, it's easy to isolate exactly what you like/need. I might get Nolly if I figure out a way to feed myself the following few days ? Can't fault them though; they're not cheap, but they're still awesome value.
-
It's great that they're so generous with their demo policy (including the recently reactivated 14 day trial). I sure love my Plini. Still, Nolly is very tempting for the high-gain tones.

Acustica. Gold, Pink, maybe more. But my BF budget took a big hit, as I have to fix a shoddy laptop (thank you, Dell!), so Acustica, if you're listening, make it stupidly good. ?

I don't know how many people here are new to Izotope (if any), but this is an awesome deal for those that are. No-brainer territory.

Same here (in EUR), from Analog Lab, the mod 3-pack, and Pigments. Not bad, but not that exciting, either.

I keep finding references to these ultra cheap gear credits, but I'm not familiar with the background story and the current offer doesn't seem to warrant the hype. Did you guys stock up on them 10 years ago when it was, I dunno, $1000 credits for $100? -
I'm not sure that would even work. Doesn't their system limit the use of vouchers to 1 loyalty voucher of a certain value per customer/month? I remember trying and failing to use a second $25 voucher in the same month.
-
Did you buy it? I was looking at this, too, but I wasn't that impressed from the samples on the site. And I couldn't find a decent review, either.
-
Hard to tell, Izotope had a lot of sales of all kind in the past few months. It's not very likely that it will become more expensive though, so if you're not in a rush, wait. BF and holiday sales are just around the corner.
-
Definitely check it out, I've only started buying/selling there recently, but already picked up a few great deals.
-
There are people on KVR selling Ozone 8 standard for as low as $40. That's a great deal.

The thing is, you're probably not helping them see it that way. They're probably like... if someone as discontent as the King keeps buying our stuff, even on pre-order... Seriously though, if the latest info is correct, you're covered, right? I mean, try to forget about designations, naming schemes, upgrade paths, all that, for a second. If I get this right, there seems to be a reasonable decision tree shaping up here: - if you have Total Max 2 (as I understand you do), AT 5 SE will basically give you a nice upgrade (cabs, workflow, signal chain, etc.) that will apply to everything you already own; whatever they call it, for you that's basically a nice upgrade to the latest features for a decent price - if you're interested in the new gear in AT 5, but already own AT 4 gear, get it now if the price feels right, or wait until it's released, demo it, and decide if it's worth paying extra compared to AT 5 SE - if there's a lot of AT stuff you don't own and are interested in (including collections), do the math and figure out what's a better purchase: go for the lot (AT 5 Max) now or wait for a better sale, or pick and choose the parts you like on top of AT 5 CS or AT 5 SE - if you're possibly interested in some of AT 5 and Axe I/O (like me), get on ebay and find out what you can get for the hardware you're replacing. Subtract 40% to get nearer to what you'd really be getting. Estimate total (hardware/software) added value and decide. If you still can't, come back here and complain. -

True, Amplitube is complex enough that you can evaluate the added value in many ways. I'm curious about the new cab section, but I would have been more excited if there was a new take on preamp modeling as well. To my ears, that's where the likes of S-Gear and the Neural DSP plugins stand out. After all, we have solid options nowadays to tweak the sound 'downstream', with good/inexpensive IR's. And I like the concept of the Custom Shop. I don't like having to browse through stuff I don't own though, or the annoying preset warnings. That must have been the idea of the same genius that decided it's awesome to have all TRackS installed, no matter how many you own. As I was writing above, their business model hasn't affected me much, and I hope it stays the same. But they sure have a messy way of dealing with things, and I understand where the frustration is coming from, especially from people who are a lot more invested into their product line. -

How much of the hardware that's being sold today is upgraded that way? 0.0001%? Capacitors? If you're a hobbyist (and I am), sure. Beyond that, welcome to the age of integrated circuits; anything goes wrong with/on the main board of a modern appliance, the service center of the manufacturer will just change it, they won't even bother looking at it: not cost effective, until the fault rate exceeds set limits and a pattern emerges. As for the software part, I don't see the point. No one was talking about not supporting the company, but about paying for actual added value. I think this is the key, and what separates IK's customers. If you're like me, and you pick and choose from IK's offerings whenever something feels like great value, while staying away the rest of the time, their business practices don't matter that much; with all the sales and no pressure, whatever deal I get will be good enough for me not to feel cheated. But I completely understand where Larry is coming from, and his frustration: he feels a lot more connected to the brand, has invested a lot more money in it, and is questioning the value he's getting in return. It's all relative and personal in the end. -

Apples and oranges. You have fixed costs related to hardware that are significant, no matter how small an upgrade is. That's why the lifecycle of hardware is and will always be different. With software, you can port the algorithms from a previous version, upgrade the UI, add-on features as needed, and charge only/mostly for the actual extra development work involved, hence the viability of a crossgrade/upgrade path. Well, based on what's been said here, definitely don't get that bundle unless it is the bundle with AT 5 Max. And it's still not clear to me if that will qualify for future upgrades/crossgrades, even though you ARE in fact, paying extra to get it, compared to the price of the hardware alone. -

Daaamn, I didn't know that. MAYBE I'd understand for a promotional freebie, but why on earth would they do that for something that is clearly perceived by the buyer as a bundle purchase ("I buy hardware x if/because you throw in software y")? And what the hell is a 'paid' version anyway? The current Axe I/O + AT5 Max bundle costs more than the Axe I/O alone. So you are paying something for it, doesn't that make it a paid version? -

What do you mean? That you wouldn't be able to upgrade from your AT5 Max to, say, AT6 Max in the future? ? Why would that be? It's a bundle, not a freebie. I'm thinking the same should apply for reselling. Just in case the interface is ok but the AT5 is cr*p. Or vice versa ?
