8DIO New Super Deal - Lacrimosa and Majestica 2.0 for $148
ZokZTM replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Decided to pass on the Majestica 2.0. Due to my past 8DIO experiences and not really needing any additional ''Epic'' stuff... Spitfire Iceni has to do for now. I'm not really into Epic and if ... then I'll wait for Audio Imperia's Jeager to come back on sale . -
Agree... exactly the same usage here, Elysia Alpha at mastering Iron at mixing... I also have real Iron and G bus clone (Tk Audio) on my hardware mix inserts. I like the results, but Tk g-bus comp does extremely little compression, sometimes not even visible at all - and at a ration of 1:2... nice additional glue. Iron hardware compresses more, on my hardware insert - about 1db on average. PA Iron plugin is extremely good tool for mixing. Shadow Hills Mastering Comp I use for it's dual compressor capabilities at mixing stage and for a different flavour.... never in Mastering though ? Just my 2 cents ?

Guys I have Console 1 (knob version) that has been occasionally used for a few months, now sitting in the box as it doesn't fit on my workspace. I have additional Neve channel strip = British Class A for Console 1 plugins as well (plus of course included SSL channel). I can let it go for cheap. If interested PM me. It sounds great, as all Softube stuff but I have almost all UAD and PA plugins + more, so don't miss it. The promised UAD integrations , which works great for the implemented plugins has been abandoned by Softube and no new UAD plugins get the control 1 surface support, that was slight disappointment. For the price of Console 1 and included channel strips, you can do much worse elsewhere.

8DIO New Super Deal - Lacrimosa and Majestica 2.0 for $148

I'm in the similar boat... still thinking about it. Told myself ... no more sounds in a while, use what you have! -
Thanks Zo ?, I don't but have mostly all what I need anyway ?
-
Buy once and buy the best! Multiplicity by DMG audio... and you can apply for an EDu discount (if applicable)... That and the Limitless are truly worth every penny... not cheap though, but replace many other plugins. From PA you can look into the elysia alpha compressor, and the elysia mpressor... I believe they both offer Upward leveling.
-
Yes indeed absolutely the same experience... Almost completely stopped using Acustica stuff due to many reliability issues and CPU taxing... even though they sound great, but algorithmic plugins are catching up at a fast speed in recent 2-3 years... it's good times ?
-
Thanks MusicMan, this info will get me to demo the 9000J ?
-
Thanks Brian, why I asked is that I've demoed Townhouse a while back and found Acustica Audio Sand4 to be marginally better. I have seldom used G-bus compressor other than on the mix bus, where I have a hardware. ITB for mixing I prefer Iron, Elysia Alpha comp, Shadow Hills , Chandler Zener etc... The 9000J could be an interesting option especially for the on-the-road where Acustica Sand could easily be to hefty on the processing power. Guys, any 1st hand experiences with Sand 4 vs PA 9000J?
-
Is bus comp in Townhouse better than 9000J, or?

As per usual, all I want is off the list... They loose so much money with their weird pricing schemes and tricks... It's almost sickening how much they try to manipulate us in their buying hysteria... Well it is a business after all, but starts to feel rather cheesy ... I mean the title.. ANY ... then small print... well not any, and just 3 $ bellow the threshold to use your monthly 25 $ voucher... ah well
-
Just a quick heads up... Sphere L22 mic is amazing, have been using it for past 2 years... for me a true game changer... kid you not. But needs UAD Bill Putney plugin for amazingly sounding emulations
-
So true like they are programmed to stop working week after the warranty expires. I stick with Siemens and Bosch... my Siemens washing machine is going strong for 17 years now, but not a big family so easy use
-
Yes of course that makes sense :-). Thanks for clarifying! Come to think of it re-install isn't a big deal for me on the PC side.. couple of hours maybe 3 with all the plugins installs etc
-
Sorry didn't catch your drift ? I use WaveLab 11 pro and Cubase (occasionally) on my PC... It is for mix capture and Mastering only... the rest is on Mac . W10 works great, oh and I have Network and Wifi switched off as well... Hope this helps ?

Still haven't picked up the Neo... tempting... -
Don't know your position in Mac vs PC matters Paulo, but found your comment funny in that regard... if you were a Mac preacher ? Just to be clear, I use and love both
-
I didn't even bother as yet to try to upgrade my Windows machines, as main comps are Macs. Complete re-install takes time...
-
and petrol money... I don't know how about in other countries but petrol has risen significantly in a past 6-8 months
-
I'm in great idea... ? actually come to think of it, this isn't far from the truth for a working musician - composer -producer
-
Yes, they only started selling downloadable software few years ago, but have since provided very good price for some vendors like Leapwing audio and Eventide... my last purchases through Thomann
-
Thanks Doug, from what I remember, Zero G was like a production company and T+S was a distributor. That was how I envisage their roles.

Thomann is steadily providing better and better software deals for us here in Europe. Very good company have been using them for all sorts of purchases in past two decades
