Hi all Like it says. i have already tried to do this and caused myself hours of angst and anxiety as you can read in my other post "Cakewalk will not launch" so this time i will wait till someone much more knowledgeable than me can assist simple ...connect x tender to x touch to cake...step by step if you can Thanks
-
ok it seems Cake will create a new ctrlsurface file...and now everything is back to the way it was.( i think...i hope) problem now is getting the X Tender to connect to Cake... i have made a copy of my current working ctrlsurface file so i can replace it if this happens again. so my ne w question is just that how connect xtender to x touch to cakewalk i think thats a new thread thanks all
-
OK so ive kept digging . i found a file called ctrlsurface in appdata/roaming/cakewalk/cakewalk core and removed it and now Cake boots and works.. when i try to open the said file to maybe remove the offending entry its all in machine code.

Hi all Up until 90 min ago cake was running perfect Intel I7 SSD / RME UFX / Behringer X touch.....all perfect until i tried to connect a Behringer X touch Extender..(xtra 8 motorized faders) i set up what i thought was a new controller and i couldnt get it working so i closed cake to try again later..later came but cake just boots to the splash screen and crashs to the desktop.. im fairly computer literate so i tried a few things. Boot win 10 into safe mode...nada Shift control boot up cake ...nada rename AUD ini file...nada update cake to latest ..nada i dont want to uninstall /reinstall coz ive got so many customizations what can i do..is there a file i can go to and remove the new x tender settings i made as that is ,i believe.the, cause of this problem. Having said that cake has never once given me a problem its proven to be very robust hence my surprise with this . thanks PS I have an old Sonar platinum on my computer and it opens and works fine

Automatic Switching of ASIO Buffer Size Possible?
Bassfaceus replied to Rickddd's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Autokey sounds like a good idea..but ive downloaded and installed it and find it way above my skill set. isnt there another program where it just records the clicks i have to make to reach a certain goal then assign it to a key of my choice kind of like WSYWIG?? Thanks -
thanks for that.. seems cumbersome.. do you mean eg if i want to record a part with three different sounds from the same synth i have to 1. insert audio track 2 insert synth 3 record then do this all over again? isnt there a way to direct the output of the synth to a track of my choosing? that way i dont have to keep inserting the synth. does the aux track feature play into this at all? thanks
-
Hi all ..ive searched but cant work it out...like it says i want to to record soft synth audio in real time . i have one part i want to test with several sounds. how do i do it...thanks

Hi Noel..can you expand on your comment "User interface is one of the main areas that can cause glitches" if thats the case how do we streamline the interface to have less impact on performance?

Hello, me again so as some of you may know i am using AUX sends instead of buses. all good...but when i go to" insert send " it shows all my currently used plugins as well . can i remove then from view as i dont want to have to wade thru them everytime i want to insert a send. Thanks again

Cannot solo Buss and track simultaneously

Cannot solo Buss and track simultaneously
Bassfaceus replied to Bassfaceus's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
yep can do that ... the way you are suggesting is to take trax that dont really need to be put in busses 1x bass 1 x acoustic guitar 1x electric guitar 1x voc which are already on separate trax just so i can have the benefit of being able to solo a buss and other random trax call me intuitive, but it doesnt make sense to me from a work flow POV -
Cannot solo Buss and track simultaneously
Bassfaceus replied to Bassfaceus's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Thanks for the replies.. What i am trying to do is simple.. I have 6 drum trax routed to a bus which has comp, EQ etc I want to solo one single bass track which i normally do not route to a bus and the aforementioned drum bus ..cant do it. all the methods suggested group solo etc...do not include the fx included on the drum bus. but the way i am getting around it is using AUX tracks.. these seem to have (afaik) all the benefits of bus es and none of the drawbacks... what am i missing here? -
Cannot solo Buss and track simultaneously
Bassfaceus replied to Bassfaceus's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
So it seems the only way i can do this is by setting up an auxiliary track. that works for my purposes.. but still strange that i cant solo busses and tracks together -

i dont get it.. if i want to mix my overall drum track with my bass track...i cant -
Hello.. I should be able to this right? Ive setup a new stereo bus routed my drum tracks to it..all good try to solo drum buss and bass track ...cant do it. its a setting somewhere but i cant work it out.. any help appreciated thanks OK so ive checked out some of my other mixes that use busses and i cant solo track and buss es with them either. that cant be right.. i want to solo my bussed drums with my unbussed bass (track) weird.

Which do you use
-
yeah this is all good.. but its still a pain having to create drum maps.. hard to believe NI dont have them available
-
Thanks john thats what im looking for
-
thanks Canopus that is helpful but im wondering if there isnt something more direct like changing the PRV keyboard to display note numbers instead of note names or cliking a midi note with one of the tools etc. again it seems like this is something commonly encountered by people creating drum maps but no intuitive way of achieving it within Cakewalk. not very computery if have to go to the manual to find note numbers now, is it.

Hi all.. still trying to create drum maps for Kontakt... my latest snag is finding out which note mumbers correlate to the note names. i can see the note names but cant get a display of note numbers.. any ideas?
