I almost forgot to mention... My work has gotten a bit more comfortable... I have previously had to deal with continual crashes when changing songs. These are all due to my continued use of some 32bit apps. Nothing ever hurt, purely an inconvenience but no more! I've only had one crash since installing 2019.1..... Than you Bandlab/Cakewalk!

Just as a note... Until a week ago, I have quite happily used V-Vocal with great success. As I only has Melodyne essentials (being too poor to upgrade), essentials doesn't have enough tools for the results I seek. A bit of fortune enabled me to upgrade Melodyne to Editor and I am slowly learning how to work with it. I've had some good results and lots of frustration as I find the learning curve far steeper than V-Vocal to accomplish similar results so we will see... I find audio quality mostly quite excellent with both programs. Neither program causes any kind of glitches in CbB's performance (with rare exceptions).

Only other current competition I can think of is Autotune.

Thanks Skald... i think i realuzed it's the 4G limit. These drives are all fat32 so i can use them from the mac side as well...

Hi Gang... I didn't see where else I might post this so I hope it's ok... I've been trying to download the windows 8.1 iso from microsoft with a continued problem. Whether to an internal drive, usb mem stick or usb hard drive... The file is marked as 4.0G. Every attempt reuslts in a line claiming to have downloaded 4.0 of 4.0 but then it fails.... File won't close? I continue to try getting it to finish and it starts with 9s remaining, but will go no further. Does anyone have an idea what is going on and how I can get this file? I'm trying to clone/update the system drive here. I want to replace a 500G with a 1TB drive, They are all SSD. My difficulty is that I run windows 8.1 on a mac pro using bootcamp, so the simple cloning software doesn't work by itself. It has to be installed using Bootcamp somehow. I haven't managed to make it work and I'm squeemish about hurting my nicely running setup. But the instructions want me to first install with bootcamp. I can easily clone any drive from windows, but they do not end up bootable??? Dazed and confused! Thanks!

This would help... My rhearsal just got cancelled so it will be another week before I can address this...

Thanks for the notice Noel... I guess that machine will be running SPlat for a while. I have a rehearsal there on Thursday and will see if I can fit the machine into the car (shared ride). I'm guessing I can install without the audio interface and fix that when returned to studio, yes? That's a harder part if I must move the interface as it remains setup for our rehearsals... I'm also going to see if someone can get a hotspot running there which might make this painless...

Thanks... Sounds good. If I run into this need again and budget permits, I might buy it. For this project, it's already a thing of the past.

I guess for many it's that simple. Right now I have no car so I can't. If it was a bug and only once I could arrange a ride, but it's gonna be constant! ...and moving the machine with it's large monitor and the studiolive console that is it's audio interface is a pain! Luckily, I still have SPlat installed there and it doesn't appear to suffer this "feature"

Thanks for explaing Noel. I understand and it makes good sense, but I have a situation where my studio is off grid. There is no internet available there. This makes it a bit of a chore. I don't recall as it wasn't an issue for me before, but I remember people inquiring about offline activation. Is such a thing available?

Thanks marled... I managed to get Sonar X1 which I still have on an old 32bit os machine to work using Time Pitch Stretch. The only hard part was the math to get the stretch equal to the pitch change...

Especially as it's free. I can understand an original authorization, but why ever after? Some machines don't have easy web access even at this point in time (technology). This makes it a much more difficult update regime to maintain.

Sounds like it might be a driver or click issue. Have you looked at that side?

How can I resolve this on a machine that no longer has web access? Pain to move it elsewhere for this. It was working fine. What caused it to revert to demo mode?

Yes Misha. I agree that this is obviously in need of attention. I too have run into it. IMHO, I belueve the system needs to restrict new recordings on muted lanes. Very counter-intuitive.

Yeah... i just ran into this as well. The machine at rehearsal studio which has no internet. Hasn't been touched since the week before Christmas. On boot up I was shocked to see it suddenly in demo mode and no way to connect to web to attempt correction. what's going on?

Yes. That's why i wish it to be switchable. There are times (few) where it can be helpful.

I'm with you 100% here. Track gfx vs. lane gfx is a big issue for me. The situation you describe is one of them. Another being the user ability to disable the track view gfx when lanes are exposed. That extra image is incredibly confusing to my eye. I can easily see which clips are promoted as the are full color next to the muted color. Then the issue of zoom? If i have the lanes open, why would i want the track image larger than the clips? I am editing the clips in the lanes. Currently if i zoom an area of lanes, i get a zoom of the track with small lanes beneath it.

Btw... i believe I use sound on sound which seems "normal" to me.

Sorry... i just noticed this... I'm sure you have the display icon selected amongst the track widgets? I'm not in front of my machine right now but I think a mouse over shows a name like waveform display or confidence display as I think it might once have been called?
