  1. Thanks for the heads up! ? ?
  2. Thanks for the correction Msmcleod! You are correct. It took me some time to adjust to lanes, but all is well now... except for the issues of lane zooming and viewing of promoted clips on the track itself. I expect to see only what I selected when I zoom... and when I'm editing clips, seeing the promoted/track image is far more confusing to my eye than helpful. I hope they at least offer an option to disable promoted clip image while lanes are displayed!
  3. Hmmm... I just downloaded and installed 4.2.2.... Seeing blobs, but some things are not jiving. Could these be because I have editor and not studio? I do not see either the orange icon or the show track list options.... They sound multi-track related. Though I now see blobs, It is not going directly to the clip I selected and displays the whole track which I then have to fidgit with zooms and scrolling to locate. I still don't understand the track mode vs. clip mode but when I switch to clip mode I get no blobs...
  4. Thanks Noel! Both for the schooling and the hard work!
  5. Ok... never had this happen before. Melodyne was giving me the no blob situation so I used v-vocal and all was well. I drag-copied it to another time in same song same track/lane. No envelopes, etc. The copied gives no sound. Rendering it yields flat line. Removing it returns to original clip. Th original opens/renders correctly. This time, Melodyne opend and gave blobs on the un-v-vocaled clip! This is confusing...
  6. Yes. I'm running into these issues a lot right now. Sometimes I've been able to force the issue and sometimes not. A few times I opened a region using the ctrl-m shortcut, no blobs, undo, open melodyne using rt-click region melodyne and the clips are there. Most recently, this didn't work. I get no blobs no matter what i do in this song. ...luckily v-vocal continues to work fine!
  7. Hi Grem... Yes... Probably more than once as it's been years of complaining about this. I believe I've also had chats on the forum with Noel and others about this. I would imagine automation lanes having many of the same difficulties. Funny, but I still find myself editing automation on the track instead of the lanes most of the time. Now thinking about it probably exactly for this reason. Zooming the track gives me expected results instead of lane restricted. I wish I could get away with that for clips, but my methodology dates back to layers and though I've tried handling other ways, layers/lanes is my best option. There are many options that lanes allows which were not available in layers for various reasons. Lanes got cleaned up for most of my issues except for this one glaring limitation which haunts me everyday in all the work I do. Maybe if you and others put in feature requests as well it will rise in importance? Can't hurt?
  8. Thanks Grem! I couldn't believe no one else is bothered by this. Thanks for the relief. Some people find it important to see the promoted clips. So to accomodate both preferences, I feel a simple option to disable the track image when lanes are exposed would be a huge help to me. I dislike the confusion of the virtual image simultaneous with the lane-clips. ...and the other factor of why should the track size be larger than the clips? Very counter intuitive to me and forces lots of extra fiddling. I know a while back the Bakers managed to increase maximum zoom of lanes, but it's been a long time and this is still not right. If I have 6, 8, 12 lanes and wish to zoom only a few bars of 2 lanes, that,s what I shoukd get. Right now when I try this I get a large track and all the lanes small including lanes I didn't include in the zoom selection. For me, most else is excellent and more stable than I can remember. This remains the biggest "sore spot"...
  9. Yeah, I know. I'm still here complaining about this. Ever since the switch to silverlight and layers to lanes. Zoom is always a pain when dealing with lanes. If I zoom on a clip on one lane, why would I want to see the TRACK large and lanes small? I spend far too much time constantly adjusting my zoom to get what I want. In the days of layers, it was immediate! I can't be the only one bothered by this yet it is never addressed other than one of my posts! Being forced to complicate my view further seeing the promoted clips when I don't need it makes it all the worse. This continues to be one of my most annoying issues with a program I love!
  10. Thanks Zargg... That sounds helpful!
  11. Thanks Noel! Once gain your hard work with the team brings joy to so many!
  12. Yes. This is a known topic. The install/update will over-write all the factory templates. If you are making a customized version, save it under a different name. If you wish this new template to be your default template, you will see an option to set any selected template as your default. Updates will not alter such user-created templates.
  13. I barely turned it on, but right off the bat it loaded in the correct mode once again! I'm looking forward to testing how thorough the update fixed so many related items. I'm still using a slightly older version of Melodyne as it's been avoiding a problem that came with it.... Now I'm thinking it might be safe to update? Anyone have any reports on operation with the latest update of CbB and Melodyne 4.2.1?
  14. I was about to download the new update and when I launched Bandlab Assistant, it refuses my login... So I will next look into downloading a new copy of BA and try this. Anyone having any similar trouble? Edit: OK, that worked. I downloaded and installed BA on top of itself. It will not accept my username, but works with my email address. BTW, the update looks great! I can't wait to check it out!
  15. I've just started paying attention to the numerical values related to LUFS and I'm wondering how realistic my current work is. I read that online systems tend to alter volume to attain a -14 LUFS. I have typically done very light amounts of compression etc. compared to most commercial material I hear yet I have a LUFS average near -12.... So spotify/youtube must be lowering my material 2db? Am I understanding this correctly?
  16. Very sad. He was a good guy! RIP Bo! He is already missed!
  17. Thanks! I getcha! Makes sense. I thought I added more codecs a while back, but maybe not? I have Media Composer First (free) on my Mac for film assembly, but I'm an extreme newbie and I'm finding tremendous difficult with simple audio work in it.
  18. Thanks Mark! I'll check these out. A work around I just used which solved the problem was to import the CbB exported mp4 in Movie Maker and create a new mp4 from there. This copy streams well and plays fine locally on all mentioned platforms. So there appears to be some issue with CbB's mp4 export that doesn't have full compatibility?
  19. This is a new frustration. I have a video imported to CbB to which I've added a music track. Saved as mp4. Finished file plays fine on DAW. Has no sound played via quicktime on OSX. Uploaded to dropbox. Download to ipad has no sound. Downloaded to pc plays fine? Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Thanks!
  20. Interesting how no one seems to mention BFD3 around here. overall it seems far better than the competition. I would buy it if I had the cash. the drum kits sound goid raw! Without processing! Not only professionally recorded, but well developed actual instrument sound. though i use ad2, i hate the fact that they don't allow buyers to hear the raw kits in the demos. I've been disappointed with each kit when I finally hear them raw. Sure. With processing they can be made to sound tood, but that's a fix not-so great sounding drum kits. I still use Session Drummer 3 for the Slate kick we were given as it's better than anything i've been able to do with AD2.
  21. Thanks Morten and Bandlab (and the founding fathers at Cakewalk)! Nicely done!
