I just hope this cakewalk model is sustainable. I really want it to last for years.
-
I thought so too. And I have been using Cakewalk for 15 years or more. But somehow when I updated it, it made it click on!
-
Scook - you solved it. Now that it is solved I am wondering my the DC offset with would checked as a default in the program. It sucks! I suppose it must benefit someone!

I will try that, thank you!

Thank you Starship Krupa. Here is another interesting finding: If I record both mics to one track as a stereo track - no problem. But when I record the left mic on track 1 and the right mic on track 2 - the problem is there when I play back both Tracks 1 and 2!

Hi everyone. I have had a weird thing happen. I was checking out two AEA r44ce mics. I recorded flute and then drum. When I pan the left and right mic - there is a strange distortion that appears. When I center both tracks - it goes away! Any thoughts? I am trying to reboot my system. Using a lynx aurora 16n (the newer one) with thunderbolt. This one has got me stumped! Why would the distortion go away when both tracks are centers and not panned even if I raise the volume?

Thank you again, Craig. I will keep a lookout for that DVD set! That was a good price on reverb!
-
Thank you, Craig. Where did you find these Discrete Drum loops? I found this site below, but I am uncertain if it is the correct website: https://www.sonomawireworks.com/discretedrums/ Thank you!

While this is being asked - I am not sure what the best plugin is for this. Not all phase corrections, as I understand it, are based on a simple inversion.

Fortunately, I have kept my CD Architect application file and serial number. If I could not find it, I would buy it off of Amazon, though I wonder why it cannot be purchased from Sony directly?

You are very welcome. We all have to help each other! I just ordered an update for the Motu Ethno. Unfortunately, I could not find their instrument list on line. As soon as I get the update, which they actual mail to me, I will let you know if it is on the list. Cheers!

I believe Motu Ethno Instrument and I believe it has it in their sample library. I have found some really good sounds in it.

It is more than free. They are spending money so we can use it!

This type of customer service is amazing. Noel was always great whether with Bandlab or before. I am very grateful that Cakewalk has continued!

Need help recording audio from synth to Cakewalk
AB99 replied to tdehan's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If you get a used TG77 - I believe it has 8 individual outputs. It plays all the SY77 sounds but has no keys. That would go a long way. -
You are correct. In my situation with A Gigabyte G1 Gaming 7 - I lost some sata ports. It was worth the trade off though.

Thank you, Andres. I was going to upgrade from 16gb to 32gb and it probably would have been fine. But pricewise, the 64gb just happened to work out. I always wanted to try Omnisphere, by the way.
-
Thank you, Rico. There has been like a hurricane here (super high winds) and shipping has slowed. So hopefully I will get the ram soon and let you and others know. Best, Alan

I should have mentioned that I use a lot of sample libraries, including various Vienna libraries, and I was experiencing Ram issues. Thank you all! My expectations are lowered!

So I have to admit that I love buying equipment. I noticed that my computer I have been using for 4 years has only 16 gb of ram in it. I am not sure why. But the motherboard allows 64gb, so I am going for it. Will I realize any improvement? I also upgrading to two m.2 SSDS because I just found out that the motherboard (GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 ) has two M.2 slots that I just never saw! So, it will be interesting to see any improvement enhancements!!!

Transpose a vocal track down to thicken?
AB99 replied to mark skinner's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
1. Are you taking advantage of proximity effect of a microphone? 2. Some ribbon mics (AEA 44) can help thicken as well. -
Hi Everyone: Sometimes I will open up Cakewalk and within some seconds it just shuts down. I will open it again and it is fine. And periodically, if I do anything while the audio is running, the audio engine will stop and have to be restarted. All of this was very rare under Sonar Platinum. Is this common to everyone? Any thoughts?

Thank you, StudioNSFW!

Hi everyone. I hope you are all well!!! If I have a track with a bunch of clips on it (from many takes) - if I bounce to clip - so it no longer has separate clips - and then I save as a bundle for instance, the size of the file is reduced. So, is it worth reducing the size of the file for any effective purpose (other than saving space)? Does it make it run smoother - less impact on cpu, etc? And is there any audio quality loss by making one whole track line - one clip??? Thank you, AB

SSD Drive to Replace current HDD data drive
AB99 replied to JoeGBradford's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Would going to the Samsung evo pro 860 over regular 860 - be worth the difference? A C drive needs to be very stable. Or is it throwing money away?
