  1. Shouldn't W.A.P. gets a Grammy be on that list? ?
  2. OK, so I'll go with sunshine... Sunshine Superman - Donovan
  3. Ah, back to the nudist camp gigs. We mostly played cover tunes there. Notes ♫
  4. 4,5,6? What's next? 7 of course, and the silliest #7 song I can think of is: Seven Little Girls (Sitting in the Back Seat) - Paul Evans Please forgive me for this one. BTW, Thanks Old Joad for posting one of my favorite pieces of guitar playing by Terry Kath. He is one of my all-time favorite rock guitar players.
  5. There were a couple of guys there that few others could measure up to.
  6. My first concert was "The Kingsmen", I was in a band that was the opening act for that concert. Our agent said, "This is something new, the people come to listen instead of coming to dance." They were past their prime without Ely on lead vocals, and we blew them away. Later, we got to open concerts for groups that were better and had current top-10/Billboard records on the chart. Notes ♫
  7. Zoot Suit Riot - Cherry Poppin' Daddies
  8. For desert, I'll have the Tangerine Dream with Raspberries and Moby Grape accompanied by a glass of April Wine, and my date will have some Marmalade with Ice Tea.
  9. I wonder if the chef is Smashing Pumpkins for dessert?
  10. Love In Outer Space - Sun Ra His music is a little too 'outside' for me, but a lot of people dig it.
  11. Actually, I believe the band should dress just a little bit better than the audience. Don't overdo it. We played a nudist camp for about 5 years, and it was hard to dress better than some of the younger people in the audience Sadly, a hurricane damaged the 'clubhouse' and we don't play there anymore. Notes ♫
  12. We've all had those Thursday nights when the bar is empty. That's when I announce, "Thank you all for coming dressed as tables and chairs" or something about as stupid as that. Remember, they call it PLAYing music. Don't take it too seriously, PLAY like a child and have a good time. If you are having fun, it's contagious and the audience will have fun too. Your attitude is important, gear your mind for success, prepare well, and that's what you will get. Insights and incites by Notes ♫
  13. Depending on your body type, less clothes might be the answer.
  14. I've never had stage fright, perhaps because I started young, before I knew any better. My advice, prepare and practice until the piece(s) you are going to play are totally under your fingers. Then tell yourself that you know it, you know it well, and the people will like what you do. They will like you, because you are doing something they can't do and can't even imagine how. I've been a pro all my life. I've had big screw-ups on stage. Not often, but they are sure to happen sooner or later. I'll say something to the audience like, "This worked perfectly in practice" or "Did you ever have one of THOSE days" or "Damn it, I got my finger stuck under the G-String again" and laugh with the audience. Everybody makes mistakes and as long as you joke about it, they will be forgiving. Insights and incites by Notes ♫
  15. Mother I've Taken LSD - The Flaming Lips
  16. Thanks, I'll investigate Macrium. On first look it seems to be free (free is good). I started with Norton Ghost. I liked the name ( Ghost ? ) When they went extinct, I switched to Acronis. Which now is getting too fat with more and more features. All I need is to be able to make a disk image so if I have a problem, I'm backing up the OS and everything. I understand a company has to keep on making more money, and either adding more features or starting a subscription service are two ways to do that. Eventually, apps get bloated and subscription services don't sit well with me. I appreciate the suggestions. Notes ♫
  17. I Hate Myself for Loving You - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
