Many years ago I played at The Peppermint Lounge in Miami, FL. It was a big deal at the time. I wasn't legal at the time, but the band leader was and I guess that's all that counted. They wouldn't serve me drinks though.

A lot of their lyrics are corny by today's standards, but their harmony singing was top-notch by any standard.

I did some gigging at Motown in the late 1960s so I have a warm spot of Motown in it's Detroit days.
I've got tickets to see this symphony performed, I think it's Rachmaninoff's best symphony and not performed often enough. I have it on CD but I'm checking out other conductor's interpretations of it.
