I think the question is checking out with an actual freebie. They have free plugins without need to purchase but still require a checkout process. Paid purchase is well paid even if you only wanted the freebie of the month.

No way, would be difficult to go back to the last "sonar" version at this point. This particular release, while I'm all for fixes this particular one doesn't seem to intersect with things I ever work with.

Maybe I read the wrong release notes, none of the things you mention are on a "fix list" referenced in the OP link as far as I can tell

Only DAW I use is Cakewalk. None of these fixes are things in my workflow though.

Have it but never used it really. Things that depend on a side chain setup, I tend to get put in the unused bucket on my end. It can work without side chain but I already have other plugins that generally serve the function that this one does. So it could depend on what you have in the tool box. They seem to have a good licensing system, so that is always a plus in my book

While I expected them to do this and didn't sign up for forever 29 as I anticipated that. The original terms of the plan was 100% under the concept that upon new release you could get new plugins at the discount that was the point. Not waiting for sales way down the road. New plugin gets released, if you are on the sub you have the option to get it. That was infact the incentive. I didn't expect they would do it for the expensive NI and iZotope stuff but there is a strong argument to be made here.

I picked it up for $10 a few months ago so matches previous pricing.

I thought that might be it also until I played it. Didn't sound like what Chandler was getting to me though it might be in the same genere. I thought Chandler's was more Natural and dynamic than this one.

Yes "Player" owners could buy instruments if they are made available to purchase such as the Dream Machines, but no way to access the "core" instruments outside of the two freebies without paying for at least the LE version, so with player you are stuck with piecemeal. If they do offer Meldway as a purchase, I'd had to imagine anyone that wanted both meldway and dream machines would be better of just jumping in and getting LE on sale "now" I have not used any 3rd party Sampletank libraries, but my understanding it is technically supported and a few actually exist somewhere in the wild ex. https://esoundz.com/landingpages/sampletank.php

Correct. Chandler is obviously hired by Melda so I could see his contributions being added to the official package. But as a MSFLE owner he would have to do that as I have no edit abilities to follow the tutorial and create the same thing he did. If they shared it officially I could have access to it. Or if someone else created an instrument using the Full version, they could give away or sell it to those that have the LE version. Given the complexity and unique nature of the Melda interface and development, while very powerful, a developer would also have to be comfortable with that workflow to create products for it, and I think you are correct in that the future there isn't as bright as I might like it to be.

The SoundfactoryLE will depend a fair amount on the instrument loaded related to the processing needs. Even with a list of instruments it would honestly be hard to judge what you are actually getting honestly. I will say that the star of the show is the beta Meldway Grand Piano. It is a massive 40 gig download thanks to all the mic positions. And as such it can be sluggish to load, etc. That said, it a fantastic sounding piano VST. MSFLE isn't a "go to" for me personally as a VST outside of the pianos as I'm not a massive Synth sound player and while MSF does straddle both "sampler and synth" lines, it has a larger synth package today. But this is also Melda and I bought it a little while ago knowing it is going to get updates for life. The Meldway Grand once they get all the kinks out I expect to be worth the discounted admission price alone and this new drum machine model suggests the door is finally open for more attention to the platform. I also heard some things Chandler created in terms of instruments that were impressive which I hope makes it to production as an instrument so that LE users can have access to it....since as an LE user I can't follow the tutorial to make and use it myself) I don't have the MAutoEQ but do have the AudoDynamicEQ. I'm not sure how much I'd personally go for the Linear-Phase maybe that is based on previous experience with others that are resource hogs though, not sure.

Sounds great and some nice well thought out controls. That said for a "premium" drum instrument the lack of sequencer in the interface seems like an area that could use improvement.

I'm aware but all the ex store stuff has been small developers. IKM is one of the largest in the industry and don't exactly need the "marketing" the pop up store provides. Audiority is awesome but also not exactly a household name and even they are bigger than some of the others that hit the store.

Got a press release on that? Would be pretty surprised to find out that Soundwide (the PA, NI and Izotope collective) is now owned by IKM.

Alreaday have both but this is pretty shocking news having IKM in the PA store if true.

I haven't bought much in the last few months, but I still think some of the sales they had were outstanding for those just getting in and had some basic vouchers. Ask yourself if you would have jumped on some of these deals 2 years ago before you went on the pandemic sales buying sprees? 1) The economy changed 2) The amount of plugins we have changed 3) The Plugin market changed As for the $15 plugins, they recently offered Black Box MS and Mastering A at this price point. But I'm guessing most of us already bought them for more than that previously, thus we say "who cares"

Clip 2 has a more open top end and depth I'd expect with the 87. Clip 1 while impressive feels a bit more like a 57 with very impressive processing added to it to me.
