  1. It's the warm, fuzzy feeling of owning something and getting a good deal. Seriously, though, at these prices you make a valid point and one I have also considered. I'm going to test the Composer Cloud this weekend and make up my mind after that. I just have an aversion to subscriptions, so I tend to dismiss those as an option.
  2. I'm already making an inventory of disposable internal organs I can sell, as I'm really tempted by this AND Hollywood Choirs Diamond for $201.26. Edit: Yes, brain is on the list since I obviously don't use it that much.
  3. I'm going to wait and see what the prices will be elsewhere, but nevertheless I have a bad feeling about my future monetary situation.
  4. The three different physical states of a drummer.
  5. Thank you, Matthew. Though you are not making this any easier, your insight is greatly appreciated.
  6. In your opinion, is there anything Jaeger does better than Ark 1 if we compare just the strings and brass? And can you think of an alternative to Nucleus at a similar price point and with sound that would complement BBSCO Core and Ark 1? I understand that there is no perfect orchestral library and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. At this stage I'd just like to avoid overlap as much as possible.
  7. I haven't bought any EZKeys MIDI packs, but EZDrummer and SD packs seem to be regular MIDI files. They are installed in the same location as the extensions.
  8. The thing is that I'm not really interested in any of the other libraries but Jaeger and Talos. And I'm not sure if I even need Talos. So I guess the question is whether it's better to have more articulations or solo instruments, and is there a sound difference? There is something about the sound of Hollywood Orchestra that makes every demo I've heard sound like John Williams' music. So I think I'm not doubting the loudness of the library as much as the general character of it.
  9. A question for you all: So the Cinematic Composing Tools Bundle includes Cerberus, Legacy, Talos, Trailer Guitars 2 and Jaeger and you can get it for $499. In August 2020 the same bundle was available for $399 from Native Instruments, but I don't think we're going to see that kind of sale anytime soon. Of the more serious orchestral libraries I only have BBC SO Core. My plan was to get Audio Imperia Nucleus now and Metropolis Ark 1 later when (if ever) it goes on sale. My thinking was that I would use BBCSO for the more gentle orchestral music and Ark 1 for epic & bombastic stuff, and Nucleus for everything in between. But now I'm wondering if I should skip both Nucleus and Ark 1 and go for Jaeger and Talos instead. I think with BBCSO they would cover enough ground that I wouldn't need anything in between, considering that I currently don't write music where the symphonic orchestra is front and center. On the other hand my gut tells me that Nucleus alone might have enough oomph for my purposes, because it uses the same samples as Jaeger. It doesn't have as many articulations and it's completely missing the 12 horns that Jaeger has, but I don't think you need that much articulations when you're just trying to be loud and I could probably make do with the horns it has or use a dedicated brass library. And Nucleus has solo instruments, which Jaeger lacks. Any thoughts on what I should do? (At some point in the future I'll probably get Hollywood Orchestra, but I think it might be too much for me right now and I'm not sure if it's loud enough.)
  10. Well of course you did.
  11. No one probably cares, but I started this thread so I'm going to finish it too. Round 3 code is BFD3-2999
  12. Also at AudioDeluxe with $2.90 DB: https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/virtual-instruments/ujam-virtual-drummer-solid-2
  13. Any idea how long this deal is available?
  14. It was €79 earlier today for me too. Some kind of glitch or mistake, perhaps.
  15. Thus the procrastinators are rewarded once more.
  16. Oh, okay. So those licenses are probably not floating around anymore. Thanks.
  17. I buy the "All The Samples From Mars" package each year. I honestly haven't used them much and it's not as good value as it was the first time, but that price ($19.50) is so ridiculous that I just can't pass it by.
  18. Zero G is having a sale on SOS products. The total is about the same, buying directly from SOS is just €0.80 cheaper.
  19. Nucleus Lite Edition is currently $79 and they are offering the upgrade to the full version for $200, so that's $279 total.
  20. I guess this works only for Zero G titles. I tried to purchase Omen and Maleventum II by Silence + Other Sounds, and it says:
  21. And the Plugin Dalliance Boring Friday Sale continues with round 2. The new code is BFD2-2999
  22. When was this free and where? Best Service has it for €29, but if it has been given away for free I might find it somewhere else even cheaper. UJAM is currently selling their full bundle for €599, so I value their plugins at €19 each and try not to pay much more for any of them.
  23. So glad I decided to wait before buying that SDX.
  24. Sorry to necro this thread, but it has some good information from Reid and the Nada library is now ~€119 (probably less in USD) at Best Service: https://www.bestservice.com/nada.html And you also get a free product.
