It really isn't a matter of the plugins sounding good or not anymore, as most plugins, even dirt-cheap ones these days are pretty decent sound quality wise. But yes, I think we have seen ample evidence that we are firmly in the era of amorphous marketing speak to describe what is otherwise a relatively bog-standard plugin, that has a teaming miasma of comparable products already available from an equally teaming miasma of competitors. To blame is the faulty idea of developers that they can just pump out a never-ending cavalcade of plugins, presets, sound packs, etc. Half of this idea was always firmly relying on non-musicians, and they nearly achieved it. The tools provided got simple enough to utilize that people with relatively none-to-little experience could produce/release music. The problem is the hoards of these non-musicians/non-producers attempting to moonlight as producers was always going to fail, because their sole motivation is clicks, likes, and $. Once they find themselves either relatively or completely devoid of all three of those categories? Like all of those cheap beginner guitars bought by those who plan to learn guitar, only to play it for 2 months, realize how far away from even being considered basically competent they are, and leaving it in the shed to gather dust. The other half this idea was catering to was of course actual musicians, who did indulge on many unnecessary purchases simply because they were cheap. This later category is still going, but the rate of consumption is dropping off. ie. how many "Cutting down my plugins" videos or posts have you seen everywhere. The endless GAS tide has started to turn. I have never seen so many comments by musicians asking why they would need that plugin. Never seen so many large releases of plugs, sample packs, instruments, etc. that get only moderate interest and response. Never seen so many people turn heavily skeptical eyes upon once lauded companies. Compound this with the gazillion AI based start-ups that are inevitably going to flood an already flooded market. Combined with the hoards of moonlighters falling away and the billions of competitor developers all racing each other to the bottom of the price barrel, IMO we are likely to see a contraction of this industry. But the developers are not going to go down without a fight. And it would appear that the method of fighting many of them seem to have chosen is smoke 'n mirrors, mysticism, and in some instances straight-up lying about their products. But yeah, for sure, magical saturation beyond our comprehension is totally a thing! 🤪

It's too late everyone. I have already purchased "the" cubase update. There's nothing left for anyone to have, nor see. Go back to your homes. ? -
New NewFangled Audio (Eventide) Plugin - Recirculate update 1.1.9

Before this release I would have thought the last thing I needed was another delay, but ooooohhhh this thing is noice! -
If the BFD license app is giving you greif and saying the server cannot be reached/request not processed. The trick is to log out and then log back in and it authorises everything for use immediately.

Did the OP just assume their face fungus? ?

I have a small issue with part of the OP title. Not a deal? With all the stuff they roll out, I actually feel like Bitwig is almost a continuous deal. I find if a new feature doesn't make me go, "Oooooo." There's always a video of someone using that new feature in a way that I wouldn't have thought of, and then that makes me go, "Ooooooo. Shiny!" (Of course now that I have said this out-loud the company is probably going to immediately fall into complete disrepair and me and this comment will be over here choking on a foot.) ? iZotope Music Production Suite 6 is here - update from V5 for $41.16
Royal Yaksman replied to ralfrobert's topic in Deals
Don't worry, the blaming still stands. Just edited my post. The new products just auto-install and ignore the custom setting in preferences. I nominate Izotope to become the new Bud Light.? At least this appears so for Ozone 11. -

There is an option in the settings section of the Izotope Product Manager, Preferences>Custom Install, that gives you manual install options. Then you get the usual pop-up to install and can select "custom install" and deselect AAX. Edit: I just started installing the new products and see that you are correct and that Izotope have decided to circumnavigate customer preferences. *sigh* Brilliant! Yet another reason to nab up Izotope alternatives and cut the cord from these complete and utter corporatized dregs of the industry. -
What's that supposed to transform into? A passenger-side pale, drivers-side sun damaged, dumpy, moustachioed, mid-westerner with more middle-aged spread than all the pallets of spreadable butter in the known universe and with cankles wider than its thighs?

Haha that's pretty rich of them. What's next, McDonald's doing an ad where they say "no fatties!"
-
I wonder if they found the experience bitter or sweet, or bitter-sweet?... I messed up and re-uploaded the photo. I chopped the very important bottom off somehow.?
-
Same reason as Dime's tone. When you select such an overboard setting for your guitar tone it immediately sounds completely derivative of the artists who broke through using those sounds. No matter what you play, it will get the comments on who you're trying to be. But that didn't really stop anyone back in the day. As someone who was playing live gigs in the early 2000's I can tell you I played with piles of original no-name bands who were out there using Morello-esque tones and doing hip-hop inspired fx leads (scratching, delays swamped into whammy and back out again, etc.) So, I suppose the answer is that Rage happened to catch on and I guess not really anyone else of note with that particular sound caught on with them.
-
This would have made more sense as an fx pedals pack. I can't recall ever hearing someone asking about his amp tone?
-
I would stick the beta 91a inside the kick shell, flip the polarity and use that as your tonal boom sound to blend. Then stick the beta 52a outside and run that through the distressor. I have found that a slightly less detailed percussive sound won't spawn as much gunk when distorted, which should result in a more immediately usable thud.

A bazillion percent AGREED! Also speaking of sadness, does Waves know NAM exists? The examples vid isn't very impressive considering the current quality level of amp modelling. $29 is significantly more pricey than compared with completely free. Why it's an entirety of 29 buckeroonies more than zilch, if I am not mistaken.?

I listened to this, so now all of you have to as well.

I had similar thoughts. Quite weird how this move completely 180'd my intentions for what I was going to do with my Harrison licence. Which was set virtual fire to it and never bother to install Mixbus on my PC again. Now that it's SSL though, I can't help but feel a tad "Ooooh shiny!" about it and find myself planning to upgrade to the latest. Even though I am confident disappointment is almost certainly ensured. I might have a problem.?

Ha! I see we were posting the exact same thing.?
