There are a number of reasons why you’d stay clear, mostly activation and GUI related, but the base sounds are actually not bad at all, and the MAX bundle gets you a lot of added libraries that are pretty good, particularly for that price.

Depends. Last month I got GForce MkII and the month before that Xperimenta Project Piano FZ. Both pretty pretty good IMO.

All three are pretty good. Also don’t fret on O'Malley's Irish Whistles. Another fine one.

Another great dev for these old pianos is Modartt. Pianoteq has several bundles of them, like the Karsten set, but you also get a few old grands for free with regular Pianoteq, even the cheapest Stage version.

I got the last two (Velvet Chic and Split Personality). Both very worthwhile.

Those so-called ‘rare pianos’ are indeed rare and old: a 1860 Swiss Grand and a 1922 Luthéal Piano. Definitely for aficionados of peculiar keys. Call me one. I love them.
