    She looks happy though

  5. Great freebies, Lars, forgot about them. Thanks!
  6. A great thing about the Akai EWI Solo is that you can reconfigure the position of the lower hardware switches to your liking.

Moving libraries around. I’m getting good at that.
  8. I think String Machines is the full instrument, not the add-on.
  9. This looks like it’s a new go-to spatial reverb. Interesting.
  10. Got these a year or two ago. Mostly ambient pads. They’re fine if you like loops.
  11. … so I’ve found a way to trim down my plugins somewhat. If they’re not Apple Silicon native, they’re out. Works wonders.
  12. 9 AM PST Up to 80% off No link yet. Didn’t get the email. Bollocks.

Looks like you’re good, Bapuji. I’ll admit my new MBP should last a while. My last one is from 2012 …

I’d invite you to the dark side, Bapster, but you can get a feel at VI Control if you’re so inclined Rest assured, Sampletank and most of NI or OTS don’t need heavy lifting. But if you’re thinking of the larger orchestral libs from East West, Spitfire Audio, Orchestral Tools, VSL and the like, well … That PC of yours should run them easily if your cpu is up to date, your Mac Pro may be up for an upgrade though. Those internal drives may also run a bit slow. Or not
  16. You’re right, but I find myself more productive on a laptop. So I got a “base” iMac (M1/16/256GB) as a desktop and a “full” MacBook Pro (M1Max/64/4TB) as a laptop. It may appear counter intuitive, I know, but these new Apple Silicon machines are anything but silly (or con)

It’s the streaming of orchestral samples that requires speed (and 64 gigs of ram). Otherwise those external drives and 16GB easily suffice, as my humble iMac shows. So, if you’re not into orchestral, you’re home safe.

    Nah, I’m just getting old.

I’m afraid that speed is essential for those orchestral libs.

Good point but if you look at those internal speeds, they’re from another planet. We’re talking over 5000 MB/s. Try doing that with an external one.
  21. Yep … the only comfort if you can call it that.
