Got both, Zo. Wouldn’t say there’s a lot of tweakability (though there surely is some) but the recorded and curated sounds are really worthwhile. Still, these are quite different from “standard” EZKeys piano sounds, which means not all MIDI packs will be perfectly compatible. But the same could be said of their pipe organ and their string machine. And some MIDI packs are actually dedicated to sustained sounds.
  2. And don’t forget EastWest Opus. To put it neutrally: a dream come true. But we had been dreaming for quite a long time
  3. But the $25 survey voucher is still limited by the $32 purchase threshold, isn’t it?
  4. Surely you mean 10%?
  5. HWH!
  6. I’m never gonna learn.
  7. Late. Again.
  8. Yep, same here.

  10. Yeah, been waiting for that since a while now. Looks promising.
  11. Well done, young padawan.
  12. Only got twelve of them.
  13. Still rocking their Contrabass Balalaika.
  14. So it’s no better, even worse than the monthly $25 voucher.
  15. What was the minimum expenditure for that one?
  16. Turn your heart into a stone. Rolling.

I met Howard Scarr a few years ago at Frankfurt’s Musikmesse. Such a sweet guy for a patching god.
  18. Some voice!
  19. I sat on his lap, but that doesn’t mean much.
  20. This is pretty pretty good, as most of what they make.
  21. But the one from Larry is the one from Larry.
  22. Hi Zok. Just got a new family dog, a Samoyed. A breed apparently named after a Finnish tribe, or close to the Sami language at least. Anyway, as I once lectured in Rovaniemi at the North Pole, we decided to call him Suomi. Merry Xmas!
  23. Yeah, forgot about that (new) one. Got to get it.

At first (v1) the look. Then I met the team at Musikmesse some years ago. Jumped in and got addicted by a concise GUI and work ethic. And now v4 brought comping, I could happily retire from other DAWs (though I’ll still hang on to Logic, Reason and Tracktion). Also, I find FL is (much) more EDM oriented while Bitwig even allows for classical work. And they only just added orchestral strings from those famous Berlin devs at Orchestral Tools. I’ll say one thing for FL though, free lifetime updates.
