Hi Dana, wonderful to have you back here.
Still getting to grips with the Plus version but Simeon sure caught me where I’m soft, being a strings ostinato freak and all
Then again, I also liked those Sonokinetic ones …
Better, I’m sure, but I’m addicted to the bounty of Pianoteq Pro
Still, even though Arturia’s Piano is said to be based on an older version of Pianoteq, it’s well worth the upgrade as it does offer different sounds.
Had similar thoughts. Not into the harsh tonality of an MS-20 myself, what with its filter as a freebie. But I do quite like the SQ80. And the Augmented Vocals. And the newly separated Prophets. And the incredible CS-80. And …
So yeah, I jumped.
Once you get your $100 voucher, don’t instinctively spend it on Falcon expansions (though a number of them are absolutely worthwhile) but also have a look at Augmented Orchestra, Augmented Piano, the KeySuite bundle and the Quadra’s.
I’m actually feeling quite positive towards Mike Greene, VI Control’s head honcho. He mostly remains neutral, which surely can’t be easy (also because he’s a dev himself, but he’s candid about that).
I’m actually pretty pleased with UVI updating Digital Synsations 1, as those four synths are sample (and wavetable) based, which is where UVI reigns supreme. Sampling romplers and other samples-driven synths also seems more logical than sampling purely oscillator driven ones.
