  1. Oh for the love of ... Seriously .... ? THAT was censored ..... ?? Just ...... just ....... ahh nevermind.
  2. I absolutely greatly dislike FedEx. Ran in to the same exact thing with a guitar I ordered from Swtwtr and an amp from GC. I remember calling GC because their warehouse was in KC and asked if I could just pick it up because FedEx screwed up. I was only 30 minutes away. The that I was talking to got snotty with me and asked me why I wanted it so bad with an attitude. That was the last thing I bought from them and I will never buy anything from them again.
  3. I didn't try to skip them so I don't know, but they roll before the movie even starts. You pick the movie, click play, 2 commercials play, and then the movie starts with no other commercials. I'm OK with that. If they rolled during the movie that would suck. Other streaming services do this too. You can get the service cheap with ads, they roll before the movie starts, then you watch uninterrupted. Or you can pay a lot more for the service and get no commercials.
  4. So far since the commercial thing started with Prime, the commercials have been at the beginning of the movie. There haven't been any commercial breaks during a movie. I always see 2 short commercials before the movie starts, then they are uninterrupted. If they insist on commercials, this is the way to do it.
  5. I feel the same way, unfortunately guitar shops are going the way of the DoDo. All the major ones in North NJ are gone. One that's been in business 50 years here just closed their doors a few months ago. The GC near me is a complete joke. Sweets is excellent about returns. I call "sw. E. Et wah ter" Sweets because I'm convinced they have a bot or someone scanning the forums and I swear every time I mention their name in print here I start getting calls from a sales rep.. It's not that they bother me, it's just I can't afford anything and it causes me great anxiety to have tell them I'm not buying. Makes me feel crappy.
  6. I like the story and game play in 3 and New Vegas more than 4. I really like the settlement building aspect of 4. 9 years later and people are still putting out settlement building videos almost daily on youtube. I spent many hours during the winter months in the Midwest stuck inside doing settlement building. There are very limited mods on the PS4 that unlock almost everything in the game world to build with. PS4 won't let you use custom scripts or graphics, but there is more than you'll ever need in the game. I played 3 and NV on PS3. It was an abomination. It literally crashed every 3 minutes. Only a few years ago I got a video card powerful enough to run them on my PC. Modders converted everything to 4K and released patches to fix all the bugs. For the first time since they came out I was finally able to play them, with all the add-ons, all the way through and not a single crash. Fwiw, they are offering the Virtual Workshop for free on PS4 now. Don't know when that started or when it will end, but I just saw it last night. Normally they want money for it. As for not wanting Prime, yeah I get it. I got rid of all my subscriptions including XM. I need Prime for work, but the only subscription I have now is YouTube Premium. I got tired of the ads and I don't like using adblockers. It comes with YouTube Music which blows the 3 or 4 stations I listened to on XM out of the water. I really like how I can download everything on my cell and listen to it without using up my cell data. But this new TV series is really good. It takes you to their world like the game does and doesn't bring any modern topic crap in to it, so far. I really hope they do a season 2.
  7. I know there are a few fans of the Fallout game franchise 'round these parts. Amazon Prime Video just release the Fallout series. Season 1 is 8 episodes. Season 2 has already been funded, but not yet approved by Amazon yet, so I have read. I binge watched the entire season. It is absolutely fantastic. I couldn't stop watching. There were a lot of bad pre-reviews based on the teaser trailers. They were all wrong. There is no woke, political, or religious content of any kind. It is strictly Fallout lore. They used a lot of the music from the game and added more and it all fits perfectly. For those who don't know about the game, it's a massive open world game that could take years to play. It's based on what's left of humanity after a nuclear war. It takes place in the future but the music, cars, houses, clothing, and setting looks like it's from the 1950's. The company that owns the game decided to make a TV series out of it. Anyway, it just came out a few days ago and I thought I'd mention it. It's really good, especially the soundtrack.
  8. I don't like the same thing all the time. I usually get what's on sale, be it dark or flavored. That said, the only way I can drink it now is when it's made in a percolator pot. Nice and strong. When its made that way I really cant tell much of a difference between brands, unless they are flavored. This is a pic I grabbed off the net. It's not mine, but this is the exact one I have. It's an old Pyrex Percolator Pot. My sister collects them and gave me one.
  9. Slept in my Led Zeppelin t-shirt and woke up dazed and confused.
  10. Slept in my Simon & Garfunkel t-shirt and woke up feeling groovy!
  11. Slept in my Styx t-shirt and woke up being abducted by aliens.
  12. Slept in my Yoko Ono t-shirt and woke up wishing I hadn't.
  13. I went to sleep in my Beatles T-shirt and woke feeling like doing it in the road.
  14. I'm really sorry to hear all that. I really hope it all works out for you and the group. Your story reminds me of two times in my playing days that things fell apart. I was the guitar player storming out once. I got tired of the rhythm player staying in G for 3 measures longer than he should and I said something. He told me he was tired of my criticism, and I said ok. Calmly walked over and packed my guitar in the case and walked out and never returned. The best band I was ever in was in Iowa. We learned 5 sets of southern rock and other rock tunes. Something I had never done a full night of before. 2 weeks before our first gig the bass player, who was the leader and owned the PA and house where we practiced, said his job was relocating him out of state. The same night the lead singer also announced he was starting his own business and was leaving the band. After months of practice it was over in 30 minutes and we ended up canceling our first job. That was the last time I tried and haven't even attempted to start or get into another band since. That was 99 or 2000 iirc. It doesn't sound like you are anywhere near giving up. I'm sure you'll keep going somehow.
  15. Thank you. I was just thinking I could use some 'drama-meme' because this thread was making me nauseous. ??
  16. Sorry to hear that. Hope it turns out OK for him and the rest if you. Our drummer developed arthritis and couldn't play anymore. He sang also. I came up with the idea to use a drum machine and see how it went. Nobody cared and we actually improved. He controlled the drum machine. Good ol' Alesis SR-16. I still have it and you can still buy them new. Eventually we recorded backing tracks and didn't even use it. In the end, we were much better because everything was tighter, and always the same. And we got more bookings. I know, I know, sometimes you need to extend songs and it's technically not a band, but it was still the 4 of us, and it worked. Very well.
  17. They aren't really known for their fullness for lack of a better term. They are known for being bright. That said, one of the best sounding Martin's I ever heard is their Made in Mexico 000. The MIM ones have the HPL sides and backs and it really adds a fullness I didn't hear in the US all wood ones. I had the opportunity to play 7 or 8 lefty Martin's at a guitar shop in Des Moines one time. The best sounding one ended up being MIM 000 to my ears because it had a fuller sound than the others. IMO.
  18. Sorry to hear that. I had something similar happen many years ago. I lost 700 + LP's to a basement flood one time. To this day I refuse to put anything on my garage or basement floor directly. I always use metal or wood racks with the first shelf high enough to slide big plastic totes under and nothing gets within 18" or so of the floor. I figure if the water gets that high it isn't going to matter if everything is in sealed totes or that high off the floor. I hope your new studio turns out even better than the old one when you move. Good luck!
  19. A barre(d?) F chord is very difficult and my least favorite to play. I don't use barre chords in general, but I guess it's important to be able to do them for, reasons? I don't really barre all the strings. I keep my finger in an arch for an F up to Ab. I can lay my finger flat when I get up to A. That's on acoustic. On electric I can bar flat fingered all the way down to F. I prefer to use open chords though and use a capo a lot these days. You can really embellish songs a lot with open chords. I started using a capo as the pain in my hands got worse. It's actually very painful for me now to attempt barre chords. And with the material I like to play, they really don't add anything to the song in terms of fullness. 99% of the time if I have a need to play a barre F, I just use 5 strings and skip the full barre and low F note.
  20. From what I observed over the years is, when asked to pay for it, it was broken, badly. Then when the current people bought it, they fixed it, but it was too late. A lot of loyal customers had already moved on. My personal belief as to why it failed before was stability and nothing to do with marketing, features, functions, or cost. To this day I still prefer using Sonar over Studio One. The difference that made me switch was stability. Yeah, a lot of people here claimed to have zero problems, and that may be true for them, but that wasn't the norm across the board and in my opinion that's what put them under. That and more options became available in the same price range that would in fact run flawlessly on almost anything you installed it on. To the OP, welcome to the forum. There are people here with decades of experience with Sonar who are an invaluable resource and in my opinion the best forum of its kind.
  21. I think sometimes our accounts can become corrupt on their servers and weird things happen. I've never seen the problem you're having, but I'm having a weird problem of my own. YouTube shows my library is empty, except when I look at it on my cell. I'm logged in on my PC, several TV's, 2 firesticks, and they say there is nothing in my library to watch except when I look at it from my cell. What I did to get around it is, I created a playlist from my cell and added all my videos to the list and that playlist shows up on all my devices I'm logged in to. But if I ever loose access to my library from my cell I'm screwed.
  22. Me, "Hey, what do you think of this? Been working on it for about 3 months. 50 trips to the truck to listen and check the mix. I think I finally got it." Her, "It's ok. I don't like country. Something doesn't sound right. The guitar is too loud. What's that odd sound on it? The bass doesn't sound good. Drums don't sound right. Why is there so much echo on your voice? It's too loud on the left. I think I heard the neighbors cat. Anyway, it's nice. Where are you going to pick up dinner, I'm hungry."
  23. I can only think of three like that here, but I have no idea which one you are referring to. Give us a hint or clue? ? Is it: A. B. or C. ? ?
  24. I hear ya. I've been trying to resist The Temptations to keep the thread alive, but here I am.
  25. That thing in the background looked kind of familiar. I used to see that around here once in a while. It's gone now though.
