I got a bottle of cookie dough scented last year iirc. My wife has off tomorrow and we'll be digging it all out. Amazon just brought my bulk order of LED C7 bulb replacements for the lighted village buildings and window candles. I get like a kid at Christmas. ? It warmed up this afternoon so I'm headed to the attic to finish up a few loose ends from the remodel. I found some very bad old work wiring I need to fix. I'm surprised/thankful it never ignited.

I know how the OP feels. When I first ventured to the CH many moon ago I took it and some of the people here the wrong way. I've always felt bad about that and it is 100% on me and my fault. Once you get it then you realize what a great place it is. Hopefully the OP will be back. Once the regulars are gone, well, so's the CH I fear. Hopefully 10 - 15 years from now someone will remember the people who were here and look back with fond remembrance.

I do. And a fireplace mantle to make as well. I just built a fireplace as part of a remodel I'm doing. I got the piece of wood I want to use for the mantle but it's been too cold to work in my shop. As for the merger thing I wish them well and much success. Seriously. They made Sonar a great DAW again and I am very grateful for their efforts. If the Fender thing goes south I would have no problem switching to CbB full time again.

That sad part is, I wasn't joking about what is bandlab and reverb nation. Maybe the op's on to something. Maybe we are old and should just go away. Tbh the thought has crossed mind lately.

I was told squirrels do these things to sharpen their teeth. I talked to someone about them eating my cedar porch and chair and they said they weren't actually eating it. Apparently their teeth grow like our fingernails and they constantly have to keep them trimmed by chewing stuff but I haven't checked their claim. Males sense though. I think your problem was probably mice. I read that they are really attracted to soy based products like wire casing and hoses and more. Just like the squirrels with the pittsburg sealer. There's something in it that attracts them. I envy you with the acreage. I have 4.5 and it's not enough to get away from people. It's getting worse as more are leaving the city and wandering out here bringing their baggage. I'm surrounded on 2 sides by large acreages and woods but it still doesn't stop people. Once Elon gets the kinks worked out of his high speed satellite internet service I want to leave here. It's sad but it's impossible to not have good internet especially with my wife's job.

Well I'll be the son of a monkey's uncle. So it's not just my imagination that these things go bad prematurely. Squirrels must like magnesium or I have amazingly bad luck. They targeted the blue ones. They chewed the wire off both sides of the socket and chewed the blue plastic globe cover off that goes over the LED to get to the LED inside. I found the chewed up bits laying on the ground.

I'm a huge fan of decorating for Christmas. I already have about 9,000 lights up, 6 indoor trees and a 20ft LED tree I built on my dock. I'm about half done. Got the Christmas village and train platform to build yet. 99% are LED. The only LED's I've ever had to replace are blue ones. I've had to replace 4 this year so far plus a 5th one that squirrels chewed off from one of my outside trees and I noticed a 6th one that needs replaced on another tree outside last night. All blue. What could it possibly be about blue LED's that cause them to fail a lot sooner than the others? I keep having to replace sets that squirrels chew up and I save the blue LED's from them. Haven't had to touch the other colors. I have 15 year old sets of lights I've never had to touch except for blue. All of them on my main tree are dimming out. When they get near the end they start to flicker and just fizzle out. Is it the chemicals used to make the blue reaction? I'm at a loss. And the funny thing is they don't give you blue replacements. Just a red, green, and gold/yellow. Any other masters of exterior illumination out there? (Scene from Christmas Vacation)

I stuff my bass back in the cardboard box it was shipped in when I'm not using it. I use my thumb or a giant triangular thick pick. Bapu turned me on to felt picks a long time ago but I never got around to trying one. I run my bass through the two ART units in my signature usually without any controls in action. Running it through the two tube analog units just does something I like without even having the compression kick in. The biggest thing I do is I always use Sonic Anomaly's Bassprofessor MarkII VST. It's free and really let's you tweak your bass track. Here's a link to it.

About a year ago now I think, I bought a bundle deal of theirs on sale. I already owned one of the plugins and I automatically got a discount for it when I bought the bundle. I would assume it applies to all their bundles but I don't know for sure. I ended up getting a lot of software for under $10 if I remember correctly. The thread is around here somewhere. And ya know, I couldn't tell you what I bought if my life depended on it. I remember the deal and the fact I already owned their autodynamic EQ and got a huge discount for already having it, but that's all I remember about it. I know for a fact I've never used what I bought because I have a favorites list in Studio One and I just drag what I need from there from the Browser and there's nothing new there. I'm not sure how the deals are going to go this year. Everyone is hurting bad. I don't think they can afford to give away too much.

You should see what they are doing at concerts now. It's a real 'pissing' contest.

The problem BiaB had that I ran in to was with Realtracks only. It didn't happen if I used Midi. They were aware of it but denied it was a problem. They tried to say it was how the "embellishments" were baked in to the Realtrack samples but it wasn't and the proof of that is the fact that they actually did fix it without re-recording 1 Terabyte of samples. ? But yes, everything I threw at it via Midi was 100% accurate. I really liked the old Roland VST stuff. What was it called, Roland Virtual Sound Canvas? I'm not sure. There were 2 or 3 VST packs you could get. I tried those many years ago and they were excellent but they stopped supporting them and they don't work any more on 64 bit. I still have a few songs I used them on and I can't tell them from real orchestra's. They were excellent imo.

I tried flatwounds because I read they solve the clacking problem. Didn't do a thing. They were cool though. Took a bit to get used to them. I may sell this one and try something else. The problem is there is an extremely limited selection of left handed bass guitars. This one feels great. Neck fits my hands perfectly.

That was one of the things I really liked about BiaB. Bass, and steel guitar. I really do like that program. BTW ... I saw a list of bug fixes in the latest version. They fixed the problem I was seeing when changing key and wrong notes being played while using Realtracks ... which they denied till they were blue in the face the whole time I was trying to get help with it. Familiar story eh? coughsonarcough. Oh the irony. LOL! I wish I could demo it but you can't with the Realtracks. I would absolutely buy it again if I knew that part was truly fixed. I really liked BiaB. What I usually end up doing is I'll export my bass line to midi using Melodyne and use Cakewalk's SI Bass VST. The Bass, String, and EP SI VST's are very usable. The drum one not so much for me. I'm used to Session Drummer 3. It will be a sad day for me when SD3 won't work anymore. It's the only drum VST I've ever used. I've used samples from Studio One in their generic little sampler, but it's a pain to set up. They have some excellent free drum samples on their Exchange group.

For years I've been fighting my J/P bass. I've tried all kinds of strings, set it up to factory specs. Played harder. Played softer. No matter what I do I get fret noise that sounds like metal tapping when I fret. I was listening to 4 track recordings I made back in the 80s the other night. I used my brothers Ibanez bass and I didn't get any of that noise so I don't believe it's my playing. That Ibanez was a beast. Extremely heavy. Solid natural wood body. Active pups. I don't know how anyone could play that thing live for any length of time. It was really heavy.

I think the middle 8 needs to be quantized.

I still have my XP slipstream disc I made with my legit serial number embedded on it. It's really easy to install XP with one of those plus it has all the last official updates that I'm aware of. I'm tempted to make a gaming rig just for those few games and install XP but I never seem to find the time. Plus the insane cost of video cards now. A lot of people are still playing these older Bethesda games online. There's a lot of Youtube and Twitch people modding them. Red Rocket TV on Twitch is really good. His graphics are excellent. He runs 100's of mods on F3, FNV, F4, and The Outer Worlds. I don't like TOW. I tried it once and it was too slow. It's made by Obsidian, the same company that did FNV for Bethesda and it was supposed to be like a FNV 2 but it was too linear imo.

Thanks! I'm in to the Fallout series from 3 on and Skyrim but that's it. I was told I can run them in 1080p HD at 60fps smooth as glass with a 1060 video card with 16Gb ram. Good luck finding one though. ?I looked for months if you recall the thread and I never could find one, and when I did it was a scam. Took me weeks to get my money back from eBay. I see they just remastered and re-released Quake. You can play it online again even on consoles. I don't even want to get sucked in to that scene again. It consumed my life way back in the day. Hah. It still doesn't look as good as GLQuake though if you remember that port. I made a custom bootable DVD a long time ago with all the editors, GLQuake, various scripts, and all the official add-on's with original CD soundtracks (compressed). Plus it had Quake II and all the official add-on's for it as well. You can play it from the disc or copy it to your drive and customize it more. It won't work on Windows 7 or 10 but it fires right up on XP. I can't bring myself to throw it out even though I don't have an XP machine any more.

Thanks! The TV detects that it's connected to a PC and it automatically turns all of those settings off and locks them so I can't turn them on. It did allow me to go in and turn Gaming Mode on but it made no difference other than allow me to adjust the blue light eye strain settings. When I turned on Gaming Mode it said I was getting 30fps but I also don't have a video card. I'm using the CPU/HDMI port on my DAW. One thing that did help a lot is I started using a mouse pad. I have an optical mouse and normally just use it directly on my dark tabletop. I just tried a mousepad and it did help a lot so that was part of it. I'm really happy with the performance for my needs. I don't know how it would work as a true gaming monitor but I suspect it would be fine if I had a decent video card. ?? There is only a couple games I am interested in these days anyway and I don't have time to spend on them until the winter months when I can't go outside.

? I just checked and I spelled it wrong. Actually it's both ways but the traditional way is Shoo-fly. I also see some people make it in a cast iron skillet which I forgot about. My mom cooked a lot in cast iron skillets. You just can't fry scrapple any other way than in cast iron. What's scrapple you ask? It's all the stuff leftover from a hog once it's butchered. It's ground up in to a gray paste. Grizzle hair and all. You fry it in lard or butter. Best served with breakfast smothered in molasses. Those Germans sure knew how to eat I tell ya. This pic is a real Shoo-fly pie. The crispy bottom must be due to the iron skillet.

LOL! No, I was fully clothed. I was still working on the bathroom at that point. You can see the shims under the toilet where I was working on it. It wasn't done yet. That was one of my old fat guy shirts I wore. To give you an idea it was a 5X tall. I lost all that weight but kept some of my old T shirts to work in. It took me a while to get used to it too but there is a lock on the door and the skylight has blinds on it. That really freaks you out when you're in the shower and you can see the sky. I don't know why they put so many skylights in this house. There are 8 of them. I hate them but it's a fortune to have them removed and the ceiling and roof redone to cover the opening. It's an older fixer upper house we bought 9 years ago. I'm redoing the last room of the house now. I'd love to post pics but it kind of goes against the TOS. Not really music related. It's been my full time job since we moved here. It's taking a lot longer than planned due to illness and an accident, but I'm almost done and I'm back to almost 100% now so it's all good. ?? Edit: I forgot to mention that I put an LED light show in there also. It's really cool at night. There was a ledge on the wall where they had adjustable can lights. I removed them and it was the perfect place to hide a strip of LED lights. Maybe one day I'll take a chance and start a thread with video and pics of all I've done. Maybe record a song and put to the video so it's in line with the "TOS".

I've always had a transparent liner that goes on the inside (to prevent water getting out during showering) with an opaque curtain on the outside. That said, not all shower curtains are made equally! ? Here's my shower. I can set up a live cam some night if you'd like. ? I stripped this room down to the wall studs and did everything you see myself except for the shower doors and the ceiling texture. It took me two years to finish but I was in an accident before it was done so it took longer than it should have. The company wouldn't sell the glass to me, they had to install them. The guy said in 25 years of business he's never seen a wall so true. The opening where all the glass went in was less than 1/8 of an inch out of square. My reply to him was, it's all my fault. I made the mistake of giving my wife who is an obsessive compulsive engineer a laser level for Christmas. Worse thing I ever did. Never, ever give an engineer a laser level. OMG!
