  1. @Matthew Simon Fletcher and @John T, are the glitches visible, audible, or both visible and audible? The reason I ask is because if it is only a visible glitch I would suspect either your computer graphic driver, monitor driver or how the graphic chip handles specific zoom percentages. That would also explain why you have such difficulty capturing a screenshot since a screenshot is a redraw of the screen.
  2. Steve, Thanks for providing the additional information. At this point my guess is an *.ini file is corrupt but is not removed when you remove and install the program. I looked through the help menu and the manual. Both describe the variables available for three ini files but none of the variables affect tooltips. However both also mention there are several other ini files that are not user configurable. My guess is it is one of those files. Perhaps @Noel Borthwick, @msmcleod or @Jonathan Sasor will have an idea why the tooltips enable/disable toggle is not working correctly.
  3. My thinking is he may enable tooltips while the program is in use but the setting is not saved when he closes the program. I've seen this happen with other software programs particularly if a user opens a program, changes a setting and then exits the program. The program closes without updating settings because just changing a setting is not considered as a change. The program is looking for a change in content data. For example in addition to changing the setting the user could change screens, move the cursor to a different place on the timeline, enable the metronome, add a track. Something that tells the program work has been performed during this session.
  4. Check Preferences to make sure Show Tooltips is enabled. Press the pc keyboard letter "p" to open Preferences. P > Customization > Display > Other
  5. I haven't seen a post by Steve in a long time. I looked up his profile and he last posted in September, 2023. He is a great forum asset and very much missed. Anyone know what's going on and provide an update?
  6. @msmcleod This is such a great answer to a question I imagine many have thought to ask but didn't. I hope @Jonathan Sasor will consider adding it to the final CbB documentation release.
  7. Nice song, wonderful vocals. I always look forward to listening to the songs you post.

  9. Google translation from Simplified Chinese to English: 欢迎来到论坛和 Cakewalk。 Welcome to the forum and to Cakewalk.
  10. Great suggestion. I'd love to see it implemented. Enlarge Time Ruler Numerals has been suggested before. Obviously it's time to make the suggestion again!
  11. Nice cover. I like the arrangement. Your vocal matches the song well but is a little buried in the mix in a few places.
  12. I missed the first post of the song. I like the song, I like the video. Nothing negative to say (which is unusual for me ) I do have some questions though, who did the drum track and was it recorded live, using midi and samples or by using a drum program like EZ Drummer or Addictive Drums? The vocal call and response harmonies are excellent. Really enjoyed listening to the music and hearing the acoustic guitar runs. I would have never guessed this was the first video you published. How impressed was I by the song and video? I subscribed to your YouTube channel.
  13. @JeffSouth, sorry to be picky but Reaper is not free. Per the +++ website +++
  14. @Noel Borthwick, @Morten Saether, @Jesse Jost, @msmcleod The MIDI Association had a meeting with DAW developers from May 13 to 16, 20 in Germany just prior to Superbooth 2024. The MIDI Association requested the meetings to receive feedback and have conversations with DAW developers about MIDI 2.0 implementations. This video announces the meeting and gives the name of some developers that participated in the meetings. Unfortunately I didn't hear anything about Cakewalk or Bandlab. Did anyone from Cakewalk or Bandlab participant?
  15. Great to see you back on the forum. You've been missed.
  16. As mentioned above I asked for clarification about the meaning of Sterling Audio's reply that the hardware uses an "embedded" ASIO driver. Today I received the response below: I'm taking that to mean Sterling Audio created the Windows ASIO driver and it is included as part of their driver software.
  17. @Sal Sorice, Thanks for pointing out my spelling error. I've corrected Mike's name in my initial post. I agree that Mike creates great tutorials.
  18. Mike Enjo with Creative Sauce demonstrates some nifty things you can do as you use a track's "freeze" button.
  19. Below is the April 25, 2024 answer from Sterling Audio: I replied asking for clarification to the term, embedded ASIO driver, used in answer 3.
  20. Great news, I received a response from Sterling Customer Support. I've copied the response below:
  21. I first contacted Sterling using their "Contact Us" page on April 01. So far I've not received a response. I left a second message on their "Contact Us" page today.
  22. Great conversation about ASIO4ALL. I can attest it works better than my onboard computer's ASIO driver. I've reached out to Sterling's e-mail support and will update when I receive a response from them.
  23. Glenn, do you mean backwards compatibility with older software programs that perhaps don't offer ASIO or WASPI compatibility? So your thinking the ASIO driver is likely a wrapper? If so, is there a way for someone to know? I have a utility programming that exposes the individual files in an executable file. I downloaded the Sterling Windows driver package and saw there are 32 and 64 bit WDM & ASIO drivers. The WDM files are about 82K in size while the ASIO files are about 304K. Does that tell of anything?
